I'm not the sharpest life in the drawer, but...

The way I read this has to do with Sales not Usage.

Your existing toys should be just fine.

So all of this makes total sense...

All of us with off-road vehicles, dirt bikes, SxS's, etc. are still damaging the environment by using these vehicles but it's more acceptable and less damage if we're doing it in a battery powered vehicle... got it.....

A vehicle powered by a battery that required strip mining half a county just to come up with enough material to manufacture it, with enough harmful chemicals to kill off a forest and with a lifetime of use shorter than most ICE cars with no good way to recycle it and this all starts making perfect sense how electric is better than gas. Not.

What do you care about strip mining. 🤣

Kidding aside . . . this state has been closing, restricting, banning, taxing, etc. etc. so much in so many different areas of life that I can't keep up with it all anymore.
I live a pretty simple / boring lifestyle . . . but the few things that I do enjoy, I'm pretty passionate about.
In the back of my mind, I used to think, "What will I do if they ever ban ________ and, or ________" ?
Then it went to , "I can't believe they banned that, there's no way they'll _______".
It seems that since the end of Trumps term, these crazy policies and senate bills have accelerated at a perpetual rate, that seems to be just running away !
I never 'actually' thought that I would one day consider permanently leaving CA . . . but now I find myself thinking about my options more and more frequently.
Pretty insane if you really take a step back and look at what is really happening.
Huge bummer for a lot of people in CA, and very sad.
The worst part , is that I don't see it getting any better in our lifetimes.

Another topic that has crossed my mind is this.....

I hope and pray Trump is elected, but know the chances of that happening are slim to none. That means our kickass douchebag POS sleazeball governor has a chance at the WH. Maybe not in 2024, but soon thereafter.

If he's signing all of these EO at the current level, what is he going to do if and when he is PLACED in the WH??

In 17 years, there will be charging stations everywhere. 😜
And not a single power plant built or the grid updated.

"They" will screech "but solar panels!!!!"

Yea, those work great at night, when its cloudy, raining or snowing.

Fusion power, no worries in another 50 years or 100 ?? Problem solved. Currently on the west coast they're stuffing battery banks everywhere there's room for a cabinet. In the east my wife is building products for Nuke plants currently under construction --- WHOA, Nukes ?

Not everybody, everywhere is apparently suffering the same delusions. 🤷‍♂️

I think part of the problem is due to the automotive world pulling off a bit of a miracle in the past when it seemed extremely unreasonable when emissions goals had been mandated and we all wept with the upcoming demise of our beloved performance and muscle cars.
I can't imagine the tales of Doom and Gloom that would have been predicted and shared had RDP existed during that era.

And yet, despite everybody including the industry itself proclaiming it was "Impossible" to achieve, not only was it accomplished, but following our initial sorrows with 185hp Vettes, we've now got 700 hp street cars and trucks.
The downside is the COST implementing these goals has burdened us with.

To achieve even a fraction of the goals these "Save the planet" minded politicians have been pressured into mandating, will require yet another miracle. I'm more confident than in the past ''They" can find solutions, but at what cost for all, even those who will no longer be able to afford to drive their own cars ?

I recall reading an article by a higher ranking executive VP type at SDG&E, who stated the goals might be attainable, but it's going to require SACRIFICE and that CONSESSIONS be made. Like what ? Will we be allocated "Power" days, or nights ? Or you will only be able to afford 12 hours of it a day ?

I can't begin to imagine what these clowns think and how they've come to simply write and EO that mandates some appointed group is to develop some strategy as guidelines. In this manner the politician like fucking Newsom, can simply state he only mandated they find a solution, he's not responsible for their recommendations. "Well 'They' said it could be done" 😁

A lot can happen in 12 years, one election and the EO's are in the wastebasket. I cannot believe that the US as a whole would elect Newsom as President. Hope I'm not wrong.
