I hope CA enjoys watching all the recreation companies pack up and leave, taking all that tax money, and employees with them.

CA is only interested in residents on social programs, and not ones that work for the money to spend on recreation.

Already been reading up about this. A lot off the off roading space in Commifornia is federal land, which, if what I have read is correct, he does not have the authority to impose this on federal lands. Regardless of all the hub bub, it will be challenged in court. So, those that enjoy Glamis for example when you purchase you pass next season from the ASA website, it might just be worth making a few dollar donation to fight this. Its easy and one extra click when buying your pass online or at the Sand Show. Just my .02

Where in the actual bill does it state anything remotely close to the carnage of the topic of this thread ? What I see states new offroad vehicles, similar to new cars. I read nothing about public lands.
Not inferring it's not true, but where is it written in this bill ? I'd like to read it myself.

And what is the donation fighting, what's going to be challenged in court ? The electrification of new offroad vehicles ? Or to collect for fighting yet unidentified bills ?
The reading you've been doing on this subject, where can I find it ?

So the only thing left for him to fuck up is a decree on boating going 100% electric.

It’s coming.

I think it is for some commercial applications. The Balboa Island Ferry must be electric by 2030. If they can't get some exemption they will close it down. Been reading several articles on this.

The article I read stated 2025, did they get one five year extension ? I'm surprised the City of NB can't find any historic loophole, that iconic ferry's been making that run forever and I used it several times during the 60's. I also recall dodging it plenty of times heading out for ocean romps. 😁
Losing that would be a real shame :(

I think you are correct. I should have checked before I posted.

For automobiles it says sales by 2035. For off road and equipment “operations” by 2035.

c) Strategies, in coordination with other State agencies, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and local air districts, to achieve 100 percent zero-emission from off-road vehicles and equipment operations in the State by 2035.

Well certainly that's an article of this EO that's vague enough for varied interpretations. I do believe it's written as "and equipment operations", but again, I certainly understand the concerns, regardless.

Wonder ….. why it’s 2035 - it’s also says 100% meaning no loop hole for fire, police and park rangers.

We have had a 100 years of gasoline powered cars, and in 10 years they want ‘‘em gone !!

wont happen that fast!

Keep reading and you will find in the fine print, meat to be outlawed, if they get their way. Google how many chicken farms, turkey farms, and cattle farms have been burnt or blown up to the ground, in the last couple years.

They will do it using massive Taxes on things like car parts, fuels and gasoline, usage fees, etc.

Feeling less and less free by the day in our country.

Go onto amazon and order car parts. "These items cannot be shipped to your location" is popping up on all kinds of items.
Its already in play.

For a large percentage of people, their only means of transportation is an old cheap car they are able to keep running.

Because if you can only afford a $7,000, 20 year-old Corolla now, you'll be able to afford a $80,000 EV by 2035.

Fucking asshats

Think it out past the issues of the grid and charging. How many jobs, businesses and markets will go away overnight

All gas stations
Most all mechanical repair shops
Most all parts stores
Oil change shops
All the businesses that manufacture consumables like oil, gas and air filters, hoses, radiators and fluids. you could go on and on
……

So in your opinion the EO is not including these and similar types of offroad equipment operations in this section ?

View attachment 1220353

Construction equipment is feeling the tightening of the noose. Something like 15 states have signed on to the California agreement. I’m too lazy to search out it out but it’s on Google somewhere.

Our fleets will have to have a percentage of eat electric only. This will include delivery fleets like our semi trucks. As of today it’s impossible to do. They are going to have to make technology improvements that’s unfathomable currently.

I agree, and the basic purpose of this EO is to mandate the development of Implementation Strategies, that are intentionally absent from this EO, leaving much speculation at this time.

I find the magnitude of this leftist goals unfathomable, let alone the infrastructure to support even a fraction of it. There's insufficient financial resources to maintain and repair our rapidly failing infrastructure as it is.

I certainly don't like any of it, but it's impact on me personally is extremely minimal. Simply because I'm old, retired and it's highly unlikely that I'll be here in 12 years to bear witness to 2035 in the first place, and that works for me. 👍

So what about our kids or our grandchildren?? What about the generations of families who have built traditions on going to places like Glamis and Dumont for the holidays? I get it, these actions may not directly effect you and me, but we should at least consider how they will ruin those opportunities for those who share in our love for these types of recreational activities.

These types of overreaching knee jerk EO's are usually stepping stones to bigger restraints.

Is boating considered to be "Off-road?"

They will legislate your boat away next year. Don’t worry.

For the record, your "Knee Jerk" assumption about me is not only baseless, but clueless --- I said I was FUCKING old, and it's unlikely I'll be around by 2035, I didn't state I didn't fucking care.
And my kids are older than most on here and my grandkids are all in college pursuing careers that will be here well into the future.
They are not only well positioned, but enjoy the same lifestyle as most of us on RDP.

I know, I know, I gave you an opportunity to pounce, you like many on here never want to let one of those chances slip by. 😡

Going to be a lot of gas generators charging up those electric off road toys! Maybe Newsom should be held accountable for charging stations installation in ORV areas to go with his EO!

My response wasn't an attack on you, I was merely saying that all of us "Should" care about the absurd decisions that this lackluster government is/are making. The decisions we all make today will absolutely impact the future generations. Your last paragraph made it seem as though you wouldn't care as you may not be around for it to impact you. In your words, "That works for me."

My response wasn't a jab at you. It was more of "Hey, we all need to pay attention to what is happening if we value these types of outdoor activities."

Hopefully that makes sense.

Fair enough, I just don't like it as certain members here seem to find pleasure in finding an opportunity to make insinuations and cast dispersions.

I will dig for facts, I'll use those as a basis for my opinions and do not like sensationalized Op-Eds that frequent these forums. For some reason that tends to open the door and invite negative insinuations from those members prone to such behavior.

What works for me is, feeling so fortunate to have been blessed with living through an amazing timeline from the birth of TVs to this digital modern age.

Of course I love my wife and family and not in any hurry to leave them. On the other hand, what I see when I go back to our place at Havasu, and otherwise look around at what I see coming, is certainly not what gives me motivation to want to stick around.

If you have facts pertaining to this EO, lay them out, but otherwise, I do not need the Ray Charles Cliff Notes in order to get it. ;) 😁

I stated I felt he was making knee jerk assumptions, I didn't accuse him of personally attacking me. Him feeling he needed to explain "What about your children and grandchildren ? " To me was a pretty obvious insinuation that because I was old I no longer cared, or I was just stupid and needed that explained.

Why do you feel the need to involve yourself ? Was anything said to you or about you ?

I believe backlash and I are perfectly capable of solving this apparent misunderstanding without a mediator.

i remember a time when america hated nazis......people rallied around anything freedom related
During the majority of my lifetime, I only remember being vigilant about fighting communism, and to that end I was an active participant.
Certainly Hitler was hated, but I certainly don't recall much about any Nazis until more recently.
In '70's Germany, I worked with Nazis who'd fought in Hitlers Army. Was interesting hearing about the war experience from their perspective.

Have at it .
I’ll stay out of your way .
Even though it’s on an open forum . You also said it’s par for the course on this forum .
Your quote “ you like many on here . Love to pounce .

Maybe leave that out next time ?

You’re suppose to get harder in your old age , not softer . Well at least attitude wise .
