I saw this on craig's list phx. thought it was interesting. The trailer also looks interesting.

2008 “Flying” boat, unique custom built boat, 28’, registered as a 2008 but took years in the process, This boat was built for distance and durability, specifically to race the lower four Great Lakes. The hull is steel reinforced figerglass with aircraft aluminum top.
It is currently fitted with a high performance 509 L88. Builder says it is 900 hp but I think it is more in the 600 range, It is propelled by a blue printed Berkeley jet pump with hydraulic place diverter, droop snoot, extra long ride plate assisted by hydraulic trim tabs.
The wing is 14’ aircraft wing that is powered by hydraulic cylinders for lift and down load. This was intended to lift the hull when the tanks wer full of fuel, two 150 gal aluminum tanks weighing in at over 2000 lbs full. Then, as the tanks would empty, the wing would provide down pressure to keep the hull in the water. I am told the hull, long and narrow, would cut four foot waves and maintain speeds in the 70’s.
The cockpit is not unlike an aircraft with switches, breakers, guages, radios, etc. to operate.
For example, there is an onboard Lowrence GPS for navigation and mapping, ship to shore radio, chatterbox for pilot/copilot communications, guages to watch oil, fuel, and water temps in engine, fuel pressure at carbs, fuel levels, water pressure, water temp in manifold, exhaust temp, oil temp, voltmeter, ampmeter, Tachometer, clock, stereo (not that you can hear anything)
The interior seats are 4G seats with five point racing harnesses.
There are plexiglass capopy covers should you want them but it may a bit warm here for that.
The engine is supported by MSD electronic ignition, dual electric fuel pumps and regulators, an auto pre oiler system, dual batteries and seven bilge pumps to keep it clear. There is even a scuba tank with double mouthpieces should the boat ever capsize and be a need for oxygen.
There is night lightin, bow headlight, strobe on the rear as well as lighting in the engine compartment, cabin, and under the bow. Plenty of storage space as well.
This all sits on a custom built roller trailer with chrome modular wheels, caps, and excellent tires.
Boat complete is $10,000. I will sell without the motor for $4000, best offer, or part it out. That would be a shame but I have to eliminate some inventory. Terry 602-390-4262

7 bilge pumps, lol. Is that because it needs it or just because they could do it????

I'd imagine if you were racing the great lakes (huge waves possible) you're going to take on some water no matter what you do... The faster you get it out the better...
