A California agency says it paid the mother of newborn octuplets more than $165,000 in disability payments for an on-the-job back injury. The payments made over six years to Nadya Suleman were disclosed Thursday to The Associated Press following a public records request to the Department of Mental Health. The payments were made between 2002 and 2008, during which time the single mother gave birth to most of her six other children.

This is a shame. Crap like this happens, and then someone who is REALLY hurt and genuinely in a "screwed for life" scenario can spend 5 or more years trying to get insurance compaines and gov't entities to get off the dime.
We have horsed the system up so badly that the con artisits pull the strings, and the decent people wind up paying doctors, lawyers, shrinks, paralegals, Binder and Binder, and who knows who fighting for what is right.
And, here in Kalifornia, Arnold is well on his way to making it impossible/unlawful to retain legal representation in W.C. cases. Yes. Really.

I've been trapped in this mess for over 5 years myself, have the surgical and other scars to prove it.
The system should be adversarial. You should have to prove your case, beyond a reasonable doubt before you can win benefits. We need to weed out the turdballs, and jail the people that jerk, or attempt to jerk the system.
But, once the case is proven, then the crap should stop.
This woman sould have all of these kids taken away from her, she should be charged with fraud, theft, and whatever else they can throw at her, and put in a padded cell after she recovers from the sterility surgery.

Will the hospital throw a lien against the book deal?? I'll bet that bill is 3/4 mil or more. We have ERs closing because of non payments, low nurse to patient ratios, neighborhood hospitals closing, etc etc. Then this sleezball baby machine comes along, jeeeeeezes....All this publicity is exactly what she wanted, and it needs to stop until the case and the sentence becomes news.
