My little boys (6, 4, and 2) have been begging to go back to Ocotillo since our last trip around Easter. We left Saturday morning and spent the weekend out there with my folk’s. While we don’t do a lot of rides, we do a lot of riding around camp. We finally used our new trailer with all the stuff on it. Set the rzr up with a bench seat in the back. We’re able to do a family ride with 4 quads (thanks @Singleton) And upgraded my youngest to an 18v Jeep.

All in all, these trips are a ton of work, but an incredible amount of fun!

Glad to see you using it.
We were out as well, but my daughter’s SXS would not start again after the first 20 minute ride.
Currently waiting on shop to call

Bummer about the sxs. How’d the new coach work out?

Man those are some of the best rides and times with the kids..
Thats exactly how my girls started. Some of the best times are sitting around camp and watching them never stop riding around.
When they were getting better we would camp close to the small dunes in glamis and just set some chairs up on the dunes and watch them ride until the sun went down.

New coach is working out awesome.
Did great in its first desert trip. Made the drive easy. Might be heading to Newport Dunes this weekend. Daughter has a weekend volleyball tournament and driving to/from SD Saturday and Sunday does not sound fun.

New coach has had new coach issues, but getting resolved.
  • right now toggle switch between RV and trailer camera is not working. Bugging the shit out of me. spent money and time setting up trailer camera and rv will not show it. Going to see if I can resolve, if not it will be a warranty item in February.
  • dealer installed fog lights caused issue, dealer direct paid freightliner to fix within 2 days :)

Some of the best trips we had were on quads. My daughter would ride around camp for hours picking up trash. Then we moved to the dip at Superstition and she would play in the hills outside camp and we could watch her and talk to her via the radio. Awesome times.

The great thing about Ocotillo is that all the "destination spots" are fairly easily accessible to small quad/bike riders....depending on where you camp, some of them could be far, but very doable on easy trails....

That’s it. I grew up going to Wash 11 and we’d rope off a huge area and ride in circles until we’d run out of gas.

I enjoy where we camp at Ocotillo because I can sit in the shade behind the coach and watch my kids run a track they created. We did a little family ride and they did good, should only get better.

It looks great! Just need to match the trailer wheels 😉. All in all, doesn’t seem too bad for being a new coach and I’m sure it tows the trailer great. I’ll text ya on our next trip and I owe you a beer or two for delivering that quad.
