I don’t believe he has a lawyer in Havasu anymore.. I know the one lawyer he was using a couple years ago dropped him for non payment.

As for finding Tim, it wouldn’t be that hard.. If it was me I’d just follow his kid. Him and Ruby still stay in touch and from what I understand his son goes and visits him fairly often.

Any charges for his wife. Wasn't she involved?

She claims she is totally innocent and had no knowledge of bad dealings. It was also said that she was cooperating with police at one point.

Being that she was the one that wrote all the checks.. Including god knows how many with the two different amounts on them.. I find it very hard to believe.

I think when the house of cards started to fall, they got together and made a choice that one should go to jail and not both, so they made a plan to split etc..

That might change now that he is formally charged. His moral compass doesn't seem to be dialed in very well.

Ya think?

Right now, prolly laying low and not having any LE contact. Just like he has been. ;)

Im thinking with that many counts against him that he would be looking for a new home in a country with no extradition treaty with the United States.

If he doesn’t return to Havasu to address the charges, then a warrant will be issued.

Cops don’t have to actively look for him, he’ll be flagged so if he has any po-po interaction, and they run his name, he’ll be caught and extradited if AZ wants him to be.

The DA and/or detectives may track his whereabouts, but I doubt a city like Havasu has the resources to devote too much time and effort into getting him.

Since he screwed over quite a few people, I wonder if one of those that got screwed drops a dime on him after the warrant issues.

That would be great.

It isn't like he doesn't already have an active warrant out for him.

If the county of record that is filing these charges puts a warrant into the NCIC system it will hit on him if any law enforcement agency in the US runs him upon contact with him. The rules, when I was working, were that if you loaded a warrant into NCIC you would abstract it if an agency had the suspect. By that I mean the issuing agency would send a copy via computer, to the arresting agency as the authority to arrest and hold the suspect for pick up, and extradition.
And that you would send people to get him.
The suspect has a right to see a judge in the jurisdiction he is arrested in, and the judge reads and confirms the warrant via a copy of the abstract. and he can waive or fight extradition. If he fights it a clock begins ticking and the agency issuing the warrant goes through the process of obtaining a governor's warrant, which, in this case, is the governor of Arizona notifying the governor of the state he is hooked up in that Arizona wants him.
At that point his game is over and he is going to Arizona. Extradition happens.
I saw perhaps 10 actual governors warrants come through when over my career and they are, or were, a real throwback looking document; large, impressive fonts and pomp and circumstance and the signatures of officials, etc.
With the charges filed on this guy I can see an agency going for a governors warrant to get him.

Wow never even heard anything about that and have been talking to them about some parts for mine.

From what I have heard they got rid of the one guy, and have it pretty straigtened out now. There reputation has been good since the split.

I hope I’m wrong and please flame me if appropriate but, the paper that RD posted doesn’t look like any legal document that I’ve ever seen. Maybe it’s out of frame but I see nothing that convinces me it’s a court document.

Who said it was a legal doc?
Looks like a printed list of the offenses to me.

Yes and it was his daughter... Sick bastard lived close to me. I even brought my boat over to his house to take a look at something when i first bought it. Was a nice, knowledgeable guy at the time but you never know what goes on behind closed doors.

Im thinking with that many counts against him that he would be looking for a new home in a country with no extradition treaty with the United States. He will probably do the rest of his life in prison with that many charges if he gets caught?

I would bet sentencing would be less than 10 years as his crimes were nonviolent theft. Not sure how much $ he actually swindled but it was not ponzi scheme type $. With plea bargain a lot of the charges may be dropped, also it may be judges discretion to sentence consecutive or concurrent.

I almost bought a DCB 22 from him, glad I never followed through, being in MI I can only guess the agony I would have went through.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out .

Where's Ted Banta these days?
I bought my boat from him. Good thing I got the pink before I gave him the dough.

That is from the cops, not the courts. The image was also taken as such so you could just barely see Tim’s name
And the charges.. I don’t know what else was said on it other than that.

The case number is clearly visible. If anyone has a deep burning desire to know more, you can submit a FOIA request. There might be a minimal fee to get copies, but at most all they would say is "No".

Thank you RD, that explains why I can't find it in the Arizona court system by that case number. Thank you for all that you did back when this reared it's ugly head and for this follow up. I got sucked in during the "membership drive" when this was going down...lol.

I intend too, if I can find out where the data/case is located...lol
