Share your offshore or marina pics. Maybe we can get a little more activity in this forum. Here are a few random pics from Marina Del Rey...

It's a four hour trip. Pretty damn long but we just make it part of the vacation. Read a book and have some beers on the way there and back or troll for fish if it's the right season...with a little luck my commute is going to be cut by about a third though. Have an accepted offer on this and had the marine survey done today Image1466467311.173829.jpg Image1466467334.087309.jpg

Cool pics!

Considering our weather and ample coastline, it always amazes me that ocean boating isn't as prevalent in CA as it is in Florida.

Called the Dock master for a place to tie up. He asked "in what?" I said a fishing boat. He said "dock 3 slip C "

Had dinner then hit the water, cruised for a while, back at the ramp about10:30

I know, right? But in my mind, everyone in Florida has dock at their house.

True...
I lived in Belmont Shore for a decade, and there's tons of docks on Naples Island...and those boats seldom moved.
And seeing go-fast boats actually on the ocean was more like the exception than the rule.
Perhaps things are different in Newport Beach or other areas?

I share the same amazement at the lack of people boating on the ocean. I have a friend with 32 & 38ft deep V's and he never puts either one in the ocean. Sundays at Shoreline Village in Long Beach is a good place to see go fast boats...

when i put my 18' jet boat into the long beach harbor... mustve had a bunch of dirt in the tanks because my fuel filter was solid with crud. luckily my dad came to the rescue. i got tired of paddling against the current.

Just wanted to let you folks know that I hate you all. I live 10 minutes from the ocean and drive 5 hours to the middle of the fucking desert to go boating. Wife isn't a fan of ocean boating :( Probably because we cant afford a fancy enough boat.

Enjoy! Looks amazing. Keep the pics coming so I can live vicariously through you.

San Diego Bay is basically a lake... with some big ships that float by. My wife isn't a fan of hours out in the ocean but she absolutely loves the bay. That was my problem as I got older with the desert. I live in Phoenix (hell) and drive to Havasu (pits of hell) then back to hell. It was too damn hot.

I was working in Dana all weekend. The sustained wind was 30 knots just like when Havasu or Parker has a fit except.....It was 72 degrees. ;)

We like this because I couldn't find the time to make the river happen like I would like. The River is cheaper....only a small percentage of the time.

This boat is a little different. The dinghy platform dock I built, holding our 10' RIB. We now have to surrender that space and move the dinghy somewhere else. That sucks but I am not paying $220 a month. Currently $50.

If its about the fancy, that's one thing. I have access to a 55 corporate boat, but honestly we have a great time just dinkin around in my dock banger. Cruising the keys, going to dinner. Might be a way to break her in.

Same here. I am 10 minutes from launching myself. I'll probably end up with a smaller center console type ride in the next few years for playing around out here.

There's some really good boats that serve as middle of the road... Put this thing on a trailer and it can go fresh or salt. http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/200...49839/San-Diego/CA/United-States#.V2mO4LgrLt4

I'm all about the trailer. Storage and maintenance is way less if you keep it on the trailer rather than in a slip.

That's one on my short list for the next boat. Big lake/small ocean boat on a trailer is what we see as a good compromise living in So Cal. [emoji106]

If you get a full cover for it, keeping it clean is fairly easy. I stored my 370 at a marina on the trailer under a full cover, was about $320/month and included a slip when I had her in the water at no additional charge. I'd wax it every time before launching and was always the cleanest boat in the water. I miss those days. The new boat is great, but it's a lot more $$$ keeping it in the slip. From fees to bottom cleaning every 3 week and the once every 3 years bottom paint... If a $1000 cover lasts you 4 years, you're way ahead as compared to bottom paint and canvas restoration.

I have space to keep it at home. It will be under a cover and hopefully under a carport if I can get that done before the boat.

We use our current boat for harbor cruises and the occasional wandering out on nice days. It is nice to make a short drive and launch. It really makes for more use of the boat.

My brother has a 280 he hardly uses but trailers everywhere. It's a great boat... Not too small but not too much to handle on the road. My 370 was a little much.

I figure as much as it is heavy, it shouldn't be too bad to trailer around. Most of it's use will be 50 miles from home. A couple times a year we will tow out to the river lakes, but my brother and dad also have boats that I can just be a passenger on out there. [emoji482] [emoji41]

That thing looks pretty accommodating , but I wonder about the numbers with 4.3's Speed, cruise, fuel consumption?

My brother has twin 5.0L in his and it tops out somewhere over 40 MPH, maybe 45? You'll cruise around 27 MPH and get somewhere between 1.5 and 2 MPG. It's a great layout and spacious for the size. 3/4 ton truck pulls it great and it's serviceable on the trailer.

Just talked to my brother, he is selling his... On a trailer, with newer bottom paint, kept indoors at a warehouse in Vegas, used 1 time in the last 2 years... Dumbass keeps having kids. Genny, A/C, very clean.

Really boring picture - but it was taken this afternoon bringing the boat back to the house instead of sitting in the office. :)
