If they do indeed build there, it will help clean the area up tremendously. Right now it's hooker central with the wild west casino and a ton of 18 wheeler parking, definitely a place to avoid.

Still hooker central, but the Wild Wild West has been torn down. It'll always be kinda bad there because of Budget Suites.

Oh wow I haven't been through that area since the Trop bridge started. Gonna have to take a drive through there and check it out. I stayed in those budget suites when I first came to town unknowingly what the area was 20 years ago. Even then No Bueno!

Doesn't matter where they go. If they don't up the salaries they will constantly be at the bottom.
for example the Yankees team salary is about 346 million this year. (highest in the league)
The A's is about 60 million (lowest in the league)

The wild west was leveled over the last three months. They had a mass funeral for about 2 million cockroaches on the first day.
And I’m not talking about the ones that have two legs!

Don’t judge Las Vegas by a party weekend on the strip. The amount of growth here is unbelievable more so the amount of commercial development and industrial going up.

I passed through North Las Vegas about two weeks ago. I think they’re built in about another 3,000,000 ft.² of the film house warehouses near the speedway.
Business is really good here for almost anybody in the more people that move here that have decent jobs will have disposable income.

The strip is not a polluted as it was when Biden was giving away money that’s for sure.

Vegas is always judged by the strip. Us locals only go down there for 2 reasons, family is in town and it's almost an obligation to go down there, or for work.

Vegas is slowly becoming a sports town, and I think that's a good thing. We keep the hidden off the strip gems to ourselves.

A few yeas ago I went there to look at an old car, upper part of Vegas, stopped to get something at a 7-11 and was glad I was strapped, it was edgy as all get out, got back in the car and headed out of that area, quickly , screw the car

I have legit been asked what casino I live in by a visiting tourist 🤣🤣

Being in construction, I'll take all the stadiums they want to build here! Allegiant is the most profitable stadium in the world so Vegas definitely gets the attention of prospective teams.

Is that the one Mark Wahlberg is involved in? I’ve read he’s trying to start another Hollywood in Vegas.

Marc has several restaurants in town and he has a couple of other project he’s working on because I believe we’re going to supply material to at least one of those projects. They’re still in the works, but I hear from our contractors. He’s a very good influence on the city.

You described just about every 7-11 in California.
There’s a liquor store in a strip mall near our home. Same owner for 35 years. After dark, there is a small group that hangs out on the sidewalk. I almost didn’t stop, then realized these are the locals protecting their own. There are very few issues at the center, other than homeless related.

Vegas for us means The Trump International, it's never disappointed us. Wife loves the mall across the street. We have a few favorite places to eat, old style LV restaurants around town. Plus, some outstanding entertainment. We mostly avoid the Strip, Downtown and the grunge.

That's good to hear! Let's enjoy it while we can before CA starts giving out reparations money!

We still enjoy downtown, there's some good places to eat. I like it better than the strip actually I hate the strip. That said there's some cool places all over the Valley off the beaten path to eat, or explore.

You can keep vegas. I hate that over priced shit hole. I used to go to Sema every year. The price gouging on everything is unreal. You would think the feds were in charge. Its that bad.

Vegas is exactly like every city or even small town. There are places that are shitholes and places that are amazing.

I travel two weeks a month to every state west of Illinois; I'm always excited to come home to southern Nv.

We still love the strip. Don't go much, but when we do it's always so much fun. Just went and saw the Absinthe show with amazing seats and all you can drink! Then went to Vanderpump for apps and drinks and the next day went hiking and rode my bike in the desert. Not too many places you can dine at the best restaurants in the world, see amazing shows and go hiking and shooting out in the middle of nowhere 20mins from the strip! Love this place!

This was just sent to me today, my grandparents built their first house in 64, but moved here in the 50s. Both my grandma and grandpa were stationed at Nellis, my grandma did her 4 years and did civilian work at Nellis while my grandpa worked for Grove Construction after his air force stint. They're both in the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City.

I wish I could share this stuff with them now, but unfortunately I can't pick up the phone and call anymore.

The Trop bridge is ongoing re construction now, along with widening of I-15, massive project. It is almost like the state had a s vision this would occur.

There was some back and forth between The Tropicana hotel, The Rio, and the selected location. The Tropicana design build has been in the works for years.

Vegas still has lots of great pocket areas and neighborhoods but Vegas has changed so much most that have not visited in the last 10 years would be surprised beyond belief. Started long ago, when Cali did the 3 strike rule Vegas was flooded with gang and criminals, we had over 10k gang members 10-15 years ago and now almost double that now. Some big changes since the announcement of the Raiders coming to town years ahead of their arrival, same will happen with the A's. Along with a lot of good changes there is a lot of crappy ones as well, gangs, illegals, negative crowds, more and more trash roaming around, crime in general is almost out of control you would be amazed if you saw it first hand. We left Vegas not long ago, will never move back that is for sure. Still have to go back every other week to handle business and a few more times a year for the fun of it.

It's my buddy's 2020. He has multiple exotics; he has a few Lambos and Ferraris. We took that to the show since it had 4 seats. Hahaha. Yeah right, 4 seats for midgets!

The only thing close I have had to an exotic was an Audi R8 Spider. Exotics do very little for me and prefer small block V8s! Probably more in my wheelhouse cost wise too!

Cool. Did you get to drive? 911’s all have paint can size rear seats too. Good looking car. I like shooting brake style stuff.

I didn't drive but he would hand the keys over if I was interested. I don't know if you'd call it an exotic but I would buy a new GT4 if I had many of the other cars I want. Love those.

SO will the City of Oakland turn the Coliseum into a homeless camp? freaking scary area all around there.
Too late it already is a homeless camp….seriously……I will see if I can get a picture if I can…I don’t like to stop there as you can imagine.😜

Anyway I don’t know if you guys heard but the city of Oakland and the A’s have been in years long negotiations to build a new ballpark on the waterfront in Oakland. It would have been cool but they could not come to terms.

IMHO the city was asking too much. There would have been no parking and last count there was a requirement for hundreds of affordable housing on site…… what does affordable housing have to do with a ball park? The city did NOT want to pay for shit either. I can’t blame them because they got no money there…😜

Crap wagon. Have you seen the F1 track or heard anything? Shitshow. Makes Miami in the parking lot look like a pro effort.

I drive 830 miles one way every 2 weeks or so.
Getting across, around, through Vegas is by FAR the worst part of the trip.
It’s worse and worse every month. One lane closure, one ramp closure, one accident and the already fucked up traffic turns into gridlock.
I can only imagine what F1 will do to it.
Absolute bedlam.

Was there for work in December up around anthem cc homes and area was beautiful. Shopping centers nice and clean and I could see myself gaining 20lbs in the 1st month with all the nice restaurants in that area!
