I tend to think self preservation would suggest that option might not be the least attractive choice without a band present.

It seems that singing too soon would be marginalized by the media as conspiracy, trigger a drug overdose, traffic accident, or life threatening medical emergency, put extended family at risk. One simply does not sing until the microphone is plugged into the amplifier and the audience is present.

Deals with the Devil, are not made with a single signature, they are made one compromise at a time until you have traveled too far down the path to unwind them. Now the Devil wishes to collect his toll as the debtor is no longer paying dividends.

New York is the biggest city in the United States and I could give two shits about Eric Adams. I've seen the party pics, and watched the charges against him today. Sounds like a couple hundred K in hotel and flight upgrades, like any of the other politicians out there. My opinion is this is a warning to the other mayors/governors, from the DOJ/deepstate, to keep your mouth shut about the illegals taking over your city/state or else you get the same treatment.
