As if we lived solely based on need/necessity.
If that was the case, we'd still live in caves.

But when it comes to the 2A, the argument is often "why do you NEED that gun/rifle?"

Why does he use the word "criminals"? It is so demeaning and creates bigotry towards them....they are really unprincipled citizens (going for the "undocumented immigrant" description)....and we should not describe them in a demeaning and hurtful way.

Not exactly what I would call a moving or powerful speech but he made some good points. Especially when he talks about the constitution being designed so the majority can never take away the rights of a minority. Its also very powerful to hear the argument that the government is protected by the same weapons they feel should be taken away from the citizens. A very elitist attitude that screams they are more important than the common man.

Assault weapons, what exactly is an assault weapon? In my thinking it is any gun, knife, fork, baseball bat, altered nail gun, automobile or a fucking potato launcher or whatever else is used to assault another human being. When I hear or see this shit on TV I just sit here shaking my head. It wasn't my rifles or ammunition that caused or contributed in any way to the past or recent atrocities. In my best Forrest Gump voice, that's all I have to say about that, for now. :grumble:
