Am I reading that correct... a 24 footer with a jet?

That's a lot of boat to push in that configuration. I know it's a tunnel but will it push the boat to the point the tunnel is doing what it was designed to?

Very cool project. I'll be watching to see how this comes together.

After having trouble getting up the gorge a couple times last year, I was wondering if the 22 Evolution could be made with a jet. When the website info more or less indicated no, I kind of forgot about the idea, never thought about the 24. Cool idea, looking forward to the results...

We think it will work fine or we wouldn't have built it but if for some reason it doesn't then no big deal. Pull the motor, fill the holes and slap an outboard on it!!!:D

Absolutely no reason we couldn't put a jet in a 22 Evolution. It's not a stepped hull so a insert in the bottom before we build it and done.

Not sure if I could actually go back to a jet, but that's nice to know and something to think about. Thanks:)

Two questions. Is this a customer build? And, will this be a L/H helm with foot throttle?

Very nice build

I like the changes in colors. It helped to break up all that red.

Looks great [emoji106]

Agreed, bringing the silver up above the rub and to that blue "scallop" helps the whole design "flow" better. Thank you for posting the pics, I look forward to the rigging ones.

Marine Power

Do they sell only pre-made power or can they convert any auto application for marine? I see this was a Caddy - I have an idea for an Italian motor and was wondering how hard it would be to convert.

Sorry to jack the thread - and won't share the details here, just interested in if they could do that sort of thing???

Rigging is really sano! [emoji106]

I like the fuel setup with easy access to the fuel filter and tank valve.

Doesn't look like the pump is machined for a jetaway? Not that it needs to be used for a safety feature, but always liked the idea of having one to run the motor out of water without disconnecting the driveline.

Can't wait to see it at the show in person. You guys are killing it.

64.5 maybe a little higher with perfect conditions is my guess

Im doing this same motor package but with CMI headers in a new 22 Shockwave Deck. The best Bob has seen in the same boat/package is 70 (just for a second) with just him, low on gas, small wind chop, slight head wind. Runs mid to high 60s no problem all day though. Its a great motor and there is a TON of bolt on aftermarket stuff that adds big HP for pretty cheap. CBM said change the pulley, top hat, throttle body, and test/tune with new programming for $3k adds 100+ hp and motor is still bullet proof. My buddy and I are having our boats built right now, his will be at the boat show. We did a lot of homework on this motor because we thought it was crazy to put in a jet, jet boats need torque to get you moving and small blocks have never been able to get it done. This ISN'T your typical small block, really it ISN'T a small block at all, more like a medium block, hahaha. Should be really interesting to see how it performs in this size boat, specially with a jet drive. AWESOME project, hope it works out.

All the jet boat haters must be playing nice nice...no gay comments. :D

Boat looks sweet... Only thing I'm kinda not liking is the small swimsteps. Why not even notch out a flat spot in the center to get rid of that big curved piece over the pump to make a place to sit? Or maybe just take the swimstep all the way across? Perhaps it wasn't do-able. Hard to tell from the angle of the pic.

Something like that you'd be better going to a engine builder and having it marinized.

I'm not jet expert, but you really don't need a jetaway unless the boat is going to go so fast that if the engine quit positive pressure on the intake side could cause an ill handling program. Mostly that would involve light weight drag boat deals. If you have a garden hose you can run a jet out of the water no problems.

Low 60's at best is my guess. That's a lot of boat to be pushing with a jet. Strange that if you flopped an OD on it, it would run mid 90's no problems.. :D

Thanks Dave - you may recall me sharing my thoughts with you when we talked about the wooden boats... When I saw that this motor was a caddy that had been set up for marine use it just got me thinking.

Believe it or not I had never driven a jet before so I went and made one quick pass. Do you know you can't turn these f*****s if you don't give it throttle?? WTF! :D

So without knowing how to drive the boat I did get it to 72 MPH! Me and half tanks of fuel. So Imma gonna just guess there's some more in it??? What ya think???

I think that's an exceptional speed for this big of a boat with a jet.

As a jet boat owner and enthusiast, i would LOVE to see one of these deals get some power. (1000hp or so). As it sits, thats an insanely good number for a huge boat like that. You boys and Nordic should be very proud. Please keep us updated!

Even though that's a big boat for a jet how much of it is in the water once it's up on plane? Plus those big ls motors make some power.

Let me add to that by asksing, what is/was planing speed? And with that big of a hill how easy was it to get the boat to roll over?
