And top speed was
I don't think so. Other 1 for sale says it weighs 17,000 lbs. Unless this one is a lot lighter.Moved well. What do you think...70mph?
That was quick! That thing dwarfs those 400's. I like it!
man that things a big boy. They should have just mounted 4 and been done with it.

I’m not sure. But if it ran 70 1st time out that’s pretty awesome! Big boat. Took some pictures of it the other day.Moved well. What do you think...70mph?
Let's just start with this boat is not being built for top speed. Don't care. Quad 400's never even crossed our mind. When it is finished it won't even have the 400's on it. It will be 350's. For those that do care about the speed it hit 60 MPH today. Props that are way too big because we didn't have small enough ones in stock. Still pretty dam impressive since as it sits right now it weighs over 10,000 lbs. It has all the berth's glassed in. Fuel tanks, floors and bulkheads. It's completely ready to be built. The whole point of getting it in the water as quick as we did was just to see how it would handle and perform with OB's and with what we learned today it was a home run for what we want out of the boat. The target top speed for this when it's done is between 50 and 60 MPH. No reason to go any faster than that with it. Fuel calcs today say at 30 MPH it's got 15 hours of fuel in it. That's what we want. Load it up for the weekend, pack the coolers, load your fishing gear and boat all weekend without having to worry about fuel. We want a boat that if you want to go to Lake powell in, you can turn on the AC and get out of the sun or take it to the ocean and when it gets nasty get out of the weather and have a cocktail and play some cards. It's not a boat we are building for speed but we are building for comfort so you can really enjoy boating. We know for some boating is all about how fast you can go. We have other models of boats for people that want to go fast. This boat from it's inception was never meant for top speed. (tooled by our GM). It was meant to be a fast offshore cat with comfort PERIOD! At this point we got exactly what we wanted out of it and couldn't be happier
I think it looks great, and 60 is impressive for sure. I agree, seems this boat would be set up as a cruiser. Be a great inland water ways boat for over night or Catalina. Nice job, you guys turned it around quick.
Great input and thank you! That's what we're going for with it!50-60mph is very respectable.
As someone who’s family boats in Alaska everyday for work. We were really happy with the Merc Enertia Eco props on the 40’ drop bow land craft with dual 350s. We saw about a 17% gain in fuel range and and 1-3 knot speed increases at almost all Rpms.
This boat also weighs in at 17,000 lbs.
I found out about them from the Merc Racing tech at DS17 at their booth and he crunched numbers and told us what to get. There is a Race series of these props as well. He basically said they run about 1-1.5” higher then the published number.Great input and thank you! That's what we're going for with it!
No need for that. Some of us were there and saw him do itJust a little proof, that Thane our GM tooled this bad boy from scratch.

60 mph with two motors is incredible. I’m sure when you keep the rpm at 4000 it’s going to be very fuel-efficient for a long range offshore cruiser. Most of all extremely impressive you guys were able to get it in the water so quickly! Wow!Let's just start with this boat is not being built for top speed. Don't care.
