Especially problematic when there's more than one lane going each direction, now it's not just a way but possibly 8-12, then toss in that so few bother to use their turn signals and you've got Lake Havasu on just about any day of the week.Multiple cars at a 4-way stop at the same time is enough to put some people in a state of panic….and I always get stuck behind the guy who’s afraid to go and lets everyone 2-3 cars deep go before he gets a blast of my horn then flips me off as he takes off.
"Lugnut Rule" He with the most lugnuts has Right of Way.Right of Way belongs to he who asserts it!
Exactly. My wife says I’m an aggressive driver. I call it highly assertive.Right of Way belongs to he who asserts it!
In the course of a day, I may drive anything from a Prius to a Peterbilt...It does cause me to hesitate at timesExactly. My wife says I’m an aggressive driver. I call it highly assertive.
Ain’t that the truthThrow in a round about and shit is really fukd.
Roundabouts in countrys south of the border are fun. Nobody is scared to throw it in there.Throw in a round about and shit is really fukd.
Snowbirds are no better or worse than all the other drivers in Havasu, they all suck at 4 way stops. For a city that has so many you think they would figure it out sooner or later(still waiting for later to happen).Every snowbird in Havasu should watch this.
Is that flashing yellow turn thing being used anywhere but Havasu ? Only place I've ever seen it.As long as we're bitching, my other pet peeve is people that won't move out but maybe a foot or two into the crosswalk to make a lefthand turn. I've actually seen people not move at all and wait for a second light. I've seen people pull around them and waiting the middle of the intersection for it to clear to make their turn like you should. Saw one guy get out of his car and walk up to their window and motion for them to move. Now that Havasu has some intersections with flashing yellow turn arrows in left turn lanes, they can't figure those out either. I actually think this is more of a problem with younger drivers than old people.
I can't actually pinpoint where, but pretty sure we had them in Ca. before we left, actually think many states use them, maybe someone will chime in.Is that flashing yellow turn thing being used anywhere but Havasu ? Only place I've ever seen it.
Most places in Utah have them.Is that flashing yellow turn thing being used anywhere but Havasu ? Only place I've ever seen it.
We have them in Washington. I like them because the traffic engineer’s alternative for a left turn lane would be a solid red light. Is that flashing yellow turn thing being used anywhere but Havasu ? Only place I've ever seen it.
it’s used in Texas. I didn’t think anything of it when I moved here, having seen it in other states over the years. But, my Dad was tripped out over it when he drove out here. I’m not sure why there can’t just be a sign like in California (“Left turn yield on green”).Is that flashing yellow turn thing being used anywhere but Havasu ? Only place I've ever seen it.
In areas where traffic doesn't tend to be rather regularly heavy, I think it's a great idea. Around here, it seems that with a more standard three color left turn signal, the yellow indicates that you're beyond the wait line, you're free to keep following others across through the light, regardless of how long it's be red --- or until another driver sideswipes your ass since he's anticipated the green and blows through barely slowing or jack-rabbits the start. We have them in Washington. Most intersections in Phoenix metro go to flashing yellow after green, nothing worse than waiting at a red left turn lane with no traffic coming at you. Just waiting for the lights to go through a complete cycle to get back to the green left signal. It's the thing that drives me the most crazy in Havasu, very few left turns go to flashing yellow. They should all do it with maybe the exception of the lights on 95. It is such a waste of time to wait at for a left turn with no oncoming traffic. Is that flashing yellow turn thing being used anywhere but Havasu ? Only place I've ever seen it.
I certainly agree, just not accustomed to seeing these flashing yellows. Didn't realize they were so common in other places. Most intersections in Phoenix metro go to flashing yellow after green, nothing worse than waiting at a red left turn lane with no traffic coming at you. That's why cars are equipped with horns, a nice way to say "pull your head outta yo ass"I certainly agree, just not accustomed to seeing these flashing yellows. Didn't realize they were so common in other places.
What infuriates me more is waiting behind somebody from somewhere not accustomed to making a right after coming to a stop if there's no oncoming.
Around here there's intersections that don't allow any right on a red, some governed by days and hours, others full time for some reason.
It's been proven, Round-a-bouts (traffic circles) are more effective than a 4 way and/or multi way stop. Mulberry and 95 seems like a good candidate.
Guess I'm recalling how prior to 1980, not all 50 states permitted it. Although now legal in all 50, it's voluntary, not mandatory. That's why cars are equipped with horns, a nice way to say "pull your head outta yo ass"

Guess that could potentially prevent getting T-Boned by someone running the Stop Sign?I've noticed a new trend where someone that has arrived at the stop will wait for someone else approaching from the side to come to a complete stop before proceeding. There's been a few times where I just rolled the stop. I got tired of waiting on them to go. I think that probably just reinforces in their head the act of waiting for me to stop. I haven't done that in some time though. Figured it would end badly one day, either a wreck or a ticket.

I just avoid it altogether.Id rather see a bridge there than a round-about. Make Mulberry go over the highway, or under. I do agree, that is one of the worst intersections in town.
So would staying home.Guess that could potentially prevent getting T-Boned by someone running the Stop Sign?
Yes and i hate it. I think it probably leads to more wrecks. Is that flashing yellow turn thing being used anywhere but Havasu ? Only place I've ever seen it.

Perhaps, some should. In LHC this failure to properly negotiate a 4 way stop, seems not to always be age related. So would staying home.
