life without Costco was a tough transition at first but these days we barely notice.

We either make a Costco run when we travel or visiting family/friends will bring stuff out for us.

Occasionally we will drive to Vegas and make a day or weekend of it. Ultimately it’s more about the fun and nostalgia than a necessity.

Where would Costco find good employees?
Believe it or not, you can find good employees in Lake Havasu. It just takes a little longer. Some of you base the entire population on the retail derelicts that work for low pay in crappy conditions with crappy leadership.

But then again my father invested $40k in Walmart and Pepsi in 1976. Stock was worth $680k when he passed in 1998.

I don't know.
But Bentonville Arkansas, Pop. 57,000, has 15,000 Walmart employees.

Havasu at pop. 58,000 should be able to find 100 or so. Maybe not?

Funny as it sounds I bet you a Trader Joe’s would work in Havasu.
I think it would half the year. Like a lot of things, a tough sell in snowbird season.

Would be another awesome addition but it’s never going to happen. They have been courted to open a store here but apparently Havasu does not have what they need. So what I was told (by the commercial realtor that was courting them) is for instance take their brand baked goods, they require a minimum of three commercial bakery’s within a certain distance to make their product and put TJ’s label on it and deliver it fresh. Most all of TJ’ products are made and packaged by someone else so they need this type industry close by. Also TJ’s management said Havasu does not have a big enough labor pool as they only work the employees like 6 hour shifts and they have three shifts and each shift is like 30 people or something like that. So I asked well then how come Prescott has a Trader Joe’s and was told they are close to Phoenix and industry to make their goods.

There is a Sam’s in Laughlin if that works for you. I just pick up things on my way into town in Las Vegas or Palms Springs

Yep! That’s the best spot for a Costco to be able to attract business from Kingman, Havasu, Bullhead and Parker.

Hell I’d drive there for the hot dogs alone. As it is now I hit Vegas or Buckeye for Costco.
Same here. 2 hours to Henderson, three to Buckeye. I go into Phoenix area about once a quarter so it's usually the Buckeye store.

I actually emailed Costco inquiring about a store in LHC, they replied pretty quick stating they had no plans at this time as the area didn't meet their metrics.

I order from Costco online all the time. Probably saves me thousands by not actually going in the store.

I haven't been in a Costco in years and don't see any reason to change that. I can't use those big quantities of things anymore and can order anything any size I need.

That is the fucking truth! I am like a woman in Target when I go to Costco. I NEVER walk out with ONLY what I went in there for.
