What a great event! There's a rumor floating about the track being saved, but I'll believe it when I see it. Super fun deal!
Nice seeing Tommy. He's one of the all time greats.Random clicks from the signing table and bottom Gary Driscoll with Ms. Hurst Linda Vaughn. View attachment 1449247
great shots, thank you for stopping by. it's always nice to put a face with screen name. i hope the rumor is true about the track staying. no one is real excited about the options for places that could handle this event next year.
from what i hear Pomona is a no go. permit fees are crazy. and then you have a issue i did not know about that Steve told me about pomona. the tower is in La Verne, the track at some point crosses into Pomona. while it may not seem like a big deal, according to Steve its a huge issue. you need permits from both cities, and then both PD's and FD's want their cut. making it finacially a nightmare.Yeah, it was good to meet you Tyler! I'm sure the event will live on, but I really hope they can pull off Pomona if we do lose Irwindale.

Nitro revival has out grown Barona, and fomosa wants to run it at the same time as the march meet or hot rod reunion. both of those options present their own issue. if the nitro revival takes place at a race, we become the side show, our schedule goes out the window at the first oil down or crash, that was a big reason Nitro revival was started after a few fiascos at hot rod reunion. the other issue is ticketing, irwindale was packed on saturday, how do you seperate who wants to see the race but doesnt care about the old stuff and vise versa.

I wanted to go but we ended up running my buddies car at Famoso Saturday instead. Will be there for sure though for the Mooneyes event in December.
I hope they can save the track, but not gonna get my hopes up
Any news from last night?Steve Sherman posted that there’s gonna be some kind of announcement tonight at Thursday night thunder. I’m not sure what to make of that…
