I don’t understand why the pros, and now it seems it has migrated to the college level, don’t wear knee pads. We wore them in high school ball. They aren’t that much in the way and yet they exist for a reason. A reason that seems lost on overpaid athletes.

Not sure they would help in this case

I have had Chubb on my fantasy football teams the last 3 or 4 years.
Consistant player, I have great respect for him, and this truly sucks.

I hope he makes a full recovery.

He's probably not gonna make if back from this. Same knee destroyed in '15. 8 years is a long time. Running backs don't have long careers without injury.

Hoping for normal life for him.

From the video I saw on line..

ACL/MCL, and several broken bones and lots of other damage.

The video I saw was worse than watching the Theisman video.

This requires surgery and lots of rehab.

Sucks for anyone
Rougher when it’s your livelihood tge mental part is rough
Prayers for his recovery

My knee got chewed up in sports at 18 YO
Worst thing that’s happened to me so I always feel for the athletes that have knee damage. It catches up to you in your later years no matter what you and the docs do when your young.

Ok I haven’t seen that and the other footage posted in this thread now. I agree knee pads wouldn’t help.

They did mention he basically did about as much damage to his knee (apparently same one?) awhile back as one could do. ACL/MCL and patellar I think, and he came back from that but I think he won’t be this time. Can only rebuild so much.

That is a career ender. Hopefully he can take his knowledge into coaching and be able to live a somewhat normal life in 12-18 months.

Good explanation of what may have happened.

I still have the mental image of my knee being collapsed the same way in 1988 while playing basketball. Detached ACL, shredded MCL, shredded meniscus and torn patellar tendon. He's in for a long road. Prayers for his recovery.

Not a good situation. Considering this is the same injury in the same knee for a second time his career is likely over.

He’ll end up with $26M of a $36M contract. Add in his previous contract and the guy has made over $30M during his NFL career. Hopefully he was smart, put a big chunk of it away and gets to sail off into the sunset a wealthy man.

They just signed Hunt. A one time sensational player.

Due to the season ending injury to Nick Chubb
The Cleveland Browns have signed former Polk High standout fullback Al Bundy who legend has it once scored 4 touchdowns in a single game !!!
