With the modern tech, I don't know if it makes the difference it used to, but overcast and cool days used to be when the big numbers were run. Of course, nowadays every pass is a big number in comparison.

Back in the day, I believe third grandstand section, a bunch of regulars would gather near the top. Guys that were there every year, both races. Low buck bets were made all day, every class, "far lane" or "near lane". Super Gas and the "stock" classes were always a blast, almost like street cars. Good times
