I've been to one of their practices and I can tell you that the broken neck Peyton Manning looks a lot better in practice than Tebow did.

You'd be surprised how many collegiate and pro players, current and former, have fused neck vertebra.

For many, it's similar to "Tommy John" surgery for baseball pitchers.
It strengthens the neck, stabilizes the head, and players report it's better post-surgery, than it ever was pre-surgery.

I believe his position makes him more vulnerable to another injury. I will be cringing every time I see a linebacker charging from behind at full speed.
