Unfortunately that’s what you do with a Floor mounted foot throttle in a Flat bottom. If I did the original installation I would have definitely used a stringer mounted pedal.
Hard to tell from the photo, it’s a Kurtis. I’ve also got a 76 Hondo I’m doing a complete restoration on that also had a floor mounted pedal. I filled those holes when I redid the floors, it’s getting a stringer mounted pedal.
