I picked up this 12'r from RD after it sat in his garage being neglected for the past year or so. My goal on this boat is to make it different from the last two 12'rs that have been rigged at Schiada. It will have a Merc 60 Formula Race motor with manual Cav plate assembly and foot override, and a Racepak EFI dash for just a few of the trick features on this boat.

1st step was to drop the boat off with Brian at Tank It in Havasu for custom side tanks to be made instead of the traditional bow tank. I didn't want to see the gas fill on the deck like the rest of them. Paul (OD1) cut the first holes in the boat.

I think the 12 footer would be a ton more fun and usable as a 2 seater.[emoji106][emoji41]

I'm not sure yet. Just gathering most of the parts for now, and having the custom stuff machined. Prime Marine is #1 on the list! [emoji1303]

This baby has been passed around more than a red-headed stepchild! :D

I don't know who this SFV2RVR guy is but I sure hope THIS Schiada turns out better than his last Schiada did. That things is a wreck. :D

All kidding aside, it couldn't have gone to anyone else who could have done a nicer job. This project will be fun to watch! Thanks for taking us on the ride! ;)

I think you have this one confused with the 10'r. That one definitely has been passed around like a joint at a Bob Marley concert!

Your 21 is about as trick as they come (Yours, Lynch's and 025's are all badass!), so hopefully you'll sneak a few new ideas into this one. The jackplate looks slick! ;)

That's the plan! I just don't need 50k into a 12' Schiada. Lol

Whatever we can make or find I think we will collaborate and do. For sure there will be some custom stuff like the pedals for manual cav plates that we will need help with. Fortunately my close friend has the 12 with the cav plate assembly we are using and it's in the Keys so I can use it for measurements and ideas.

It's gonna be badass!

I also spend 99.9% of my boating time in Parker. Using these boats to bar hop and go to the upper beach area above Foxs is so much easier than taking my 21RC. Although it will probably be too nice when I finish it I won't wanna tie it up at the bar! Lol.

How would the Harley motor get cooled?

I thought of this year's back. It needs a turbo's wave runner motor

Water cooled?

Not 100% sure, I would assume, an enclosed jet ski couldn't get air cooled.
I believe last I talked to Brian about em they were something like 200hp range, could be wrong but I know it was crazy hp from a jetski motor
Made me start thinking about picking one of these suckers up.

The V-Rod Harley motor is water-cooled. I've thought lots about how I would like to put one together with a jet. Mercury was making an inboard jet for a number of years Optimax or something like that. I thought that would be awesome, because unlike a SeaDoo package its all behind the seat. You would have to re-tool the well and make it like a standard gunwale. That would probably work well in a 12'

yes, the v-rod motor is water cooled, and would sound way better than a seadoo motor. just thought it'd be a cool idea to run a v-drive and a harley motor....AMERICA!

In still not sure there is enough room for a Harley motor behind the seat though. A V-drive mini would be awesome!

Would there be enough room for a v drive in a mini? Or would it be a direct drive?

A water cooled Harley motor would be bad ass. I think it would work to a v-drive as well. I believe there is enough room

Years back before my mini was re-gelled, I picked up a large wave runner motor. I was going to put the pump in the boat and the motor under the deck. It was going to have a small drive shaft to the pump. Gas tank in the back to help with weight.

Islander took 3 years to re-gel the boat and then I wanted it done right away. So I ditched that idea and just threw the outboard on her.

One day when I have extra cash laying around, I want another 10'r and run with that idea that I had :thumbsup

I like the v-Drive idea. :thumbsup Small Twin turbo V-6 all aluminum? I am not sure how much room you have in a 12'er.

You would have enough room if you re-tooled the deck, removing the well and putting a hatch on it like an RC.

Would a 1.3 Rotary be smaller in size than the V-6?

Right on. Who did you order the engine from? Did you decide who is going to help with the cav plate install? Can't fricken wait to see it. I may have to make a special trip down just to see it. I'm really thinking about ordering one of these. Like said previously, I think the 12 will be much more useful than a 10.

Motor was ordered thru Fallon Marine in Lake Havasu. I'm still not sure who's rigging the Cav plate assembly yet.

Why can't you rig the plates?

I'm not saying I can't. I want to put a pedal assembly and lockout handle for the plates like a v-drive. I need to have to pedal assembly scaled down because the size of the boat so it will look proportional.

I could see that. What would the advantages of an override pedal me on an outboard? I know it's a 12er but if you hit that pedal won't it slam the nose too hard?
