If you're RV'ing, putting bikes and other easily stealable stuff in the bed of a pickup isn't optimal (speaking from painful experience)....
Mmmm, not had that bad experience, put em on a rack over the bed, lock em up and seem to work great.

My dad might be selling his 2000 Dodge Durango that's in Havasu. Not 4x4 but fits the bill for a cheap 3-row seater with a v8 (360). Pretty clean for a 20-year old SUV (silver exterior, black leather interior). PM if you want to get in touch with him (or at least I know to check).

Find yourself a H3 Hummer. You can get it with the straight 5 cylinder very light easy to tow. And four-wheel drive and towable.

HAHA I thought it was only me. Thats a good looking setup.
Im towing a Silverado 2500HD crew cab long bed lifted.
Flat towing my truck allows me to carry a ton of stuff. Its weighs 10k lbs with all my tools and crap stowed away in the bed drawers

Not flat towable. Subaru's AWD can't be towed that way.

Like zhandfull said, manual transmissions are flat towable. It was endorsed (or at least acknowledged as ok) by Subaru until the mid/late 2010s. We tow a 2012 Outback 6mt without issue.

Before you go out and buy something in a 4x4 make sure it has a 2-speed transfer case, read the manual under towing and stay away from something lifted, in some cases they can sway like a mofo behind a moho, overheat the front tires causing blowouts.
Have fun, your kids will never forget these camping trips, ours still talk about now 19 & 20yrs old. :D

The early 4wd pilots had a procedure to get them to flat tow. You had to shift into 1st, then 2nd, then drive wait 5 min, then neutral or something like that. That would align the transmission pump to run off the forward gears. Friend towed one for a little bit, switched to a honda fit for a smaller lighter car to tow. What year is this?
