They had an almost new GS mfg rig in there, was using gray #1 through it.
I made them buy it before I’d do that 40 you guys finished.

Unfortunately they didn’t have quite the air pressure to make it function properly.
If you go through the material pump, and it might not even need that? A thorough flush might do it.

If the air system is up to it there the GS rigs works pretty well, saves a lot of material and more time!
I did go through to the pump, lines, and gun to remove old gel...….it was gelled.....lol...….in havasu summer, they can't sit...…...kicked in 2 months...…..no catalyst needed....and it might be a cal low emission version, as our air doesn't push atomization on it either......our other gs is fine...….different setup tho…...

Yep. No air atomization. Low emissions.
You should grab a few different tip plates, with different jets.
Saves a lot of time switching patterns.

I only use that one for molds ......….the plate is pretty close.....but I think I will try some others to see....they are pricey tho…….and my day to day is dialed in...…..has a diff gun/tip system.....I use 2 different sizes depending on situation......, and shoot all along the tape with the 2qt pot...…

I talked to gary at gs and he told me it was a low emission system.....thanks for making things harder CA!

That bottom looks a LOT like a Skater. Beyond interesting that Nordic bought or borrowed a 40' Skater bottom to build Nordics 43' and now they have a true tunnel 36' ? I love the passion that Nordic has for west coast boating. This seems just a lil odd to me.

Nope, never happened but this has been a topic of conversation for a long time around Havasu. Douglas Marine Skater Powerboats and Peter Hledin have never sold a mould and have never given anyone permission to splash their moulds.

Peter (for whatever reason) has never legally challenged any of the many competitors that have splashed the Skater bottoms over many years.

It never really seems to matter though as the layup techniques are as big a part of superior performance of Skaters as the hull design.

The 43 Nordic that everyone runs their mouth about being a "Skater Bottom".... how does that boat run with the 1350's it has in it? - I am told it weighs over 13,000 lbs. Run that boat next to a 44 Skater w- 1350's and you will see what happens.

Randy Davis some years ago owned a 40 Standard deck Skater with roots supercharged power ..... hmmmmm

The Guys are Nordic are 1st class guys and run a great shop but all this "its a Skater" garbage ..... 100% fairytail

In talking to a drive guy out here in Florida, they’ve had issues with the 400 lowers running on the twin outboard 30-36’ cats. They’re setup with a super high x-dimension so the props are constantly going in and out of the water and eating up the lower gears. That combined with the owners of those boats thinking they can run WOT all the time because they have outboards, is hard on the equipment.

The 300hp and below outboards are pretty bulletproof, but when you start pushing higher hp and more aggressive setups, there will be issues. Not unlike I/O setups...

They are breaking prop shafts.. Max Machines works already makes a single piece billet prop shaft as a fix, and Mercury I have heard is working on one now.

The fastest skaters in the country aren't generally setup by Skater. I know Vern in conjunction with Brummett spend quite a bit of time moving motors around etc..

Yes the Nordic's are considerably heavier than Skaters, and no they won't measure up on a race course with one. That said with a more west coast layup there are a lot of benefits that are worth the trade off to just weight savings.

I always heard that Nordic did have some deal with Skater on the big 43-44's.. I dunno though as I don't work for Nordic or Skater and I wasn't there.

This hull is tooled from the ground up, and you can see in the pics how wide the sponsons are. Too put quads on it you can imagine. The pics are a little deceiving.

I have no Idea if the big Nordic cat is a Skater, but that info wasn't just here on RDP, it was in several publications.

The original 43 was a splash off of Randy's 40 Skater he sold when he bought Nordic. The 34 was their own mold. The 43 has been changed a ton over the years so who knows what is left of the original design.

Randy owned the 40 prior to buying Nordic. He worked a deal with Peter to use the Skater bottom on the 43. The deck was all tooled in house.

The 34 was from a 32 Skater. It was Jack Sanger's boat.

There was no deal worked out until after the fact. Peter told me that himself.

Needs a pair or Arnesons and high output diesels. Won't be a top speed boat but bitchen for the ocean/wherever and pretty much problem free.....in theory

I went and checked out a twin diesel Skater that is going to be an around the world boat last year here in Havasu. He had a crazy build thread on OSO and ungodly money in the boat. They were still having a lot of problems with it, but it was getting better each time out. Not sure what ever became of it to be honest?
