Friend of mine built this Tornado ambulance into a hauler to haul his sprint car...
He towed his sprinter all over the country with this back in the late 70&early 80's.
...he still has it.

Revcons used the same olds toronado/Cadillac Eldorado drivetrain until they quit making it in 78 or 79, then Revcon went to a 454/TH400 w/ a transfer case using on the front output and some sort of front axle....that's when the problems started, because there's not a really a good way to do that.
There unit was a 1978 and they bought it new. I had to call my mother who's 83 years young however, remembers everything. They had a Kings Highway prior. My Grandparents were on the road 6 months out of the year. Asking my mother a simple question about the year of that Revcon cost me an hr on the phone...LMAO. 😁

I'm not saying I regret the call either. 👍

They pulled a mid 70's Chevy Luv truck behind it.

Man I have always loved those. The lines are just so cool. My Dad picked up a Dodge Travco which has more of a bubble look to it. I started to help him rebuild it, but he lost interest. It eventually was sold. Now I see them all the time and they also have quite the following.

My pops had a Revcon, '71 model, I believe. Like a big ass VW vanagon, with a little more HP. Pulled a 19' ski boat from so cal to Trinity Lake with ease. Havasu many times, early 90's. Swapped out the points type ignition with GM HEI. 16.5" super singles on the rear.

My uncle had a Clark M/H, mid '60's I'd guess. Also front wheel drive, 225 slant 6, manual 5 speed transmission. And he had a wooden leg, clutch side. He drove it all over America, and parts of Canada, in the 80's and 90's. Fairly roomy for a 26ish footer.

Picture this: it’s 1967, and automotive innovation is taking a bold leap with the Dodge Deora concept pickup. This isn't just any truck—it's a rolling masterpiece that began its journey as a 1965 A100 pickup before undergoing a radical transformation. The windshield? It’s actually repurposed from the rear window of a 1960 Ford station wagon, giving the Deora its signature, futuristic look.

Crafted by the imaginative minds of Mike and Larry Alexander, this eye-catching creation was designed for the show circuit. But here's where it gets truly intriguing: the Deora has no traditional side doors. Instead, it features a pivoting front panel under the windshield, and the steering wheel swings aside to make way.

And if you think the Deora’s striking appearance is all it has to offer, think again. Mattel immortalized this visionary vehicle as one of the original 16 Hot Wheels die-cast cars, complete with surfboards for that extra cool factor. Despite its sporty exterior, under the hood lies a surprisingly modest 170 cubic inch Slant Six engine, churning out just 101 horsepower with a 3-speed manual transmission.

Dive into the world of automotive wonder and let your imagination roam with this iconic piece of car history!

Family friends once had one of these on Lake Arrowhead. Their’s was a Chris Craft, said to have been the longest boat on the lake and once belonged to Howard Hughes. Throttle was a lever in the middle of the steering wheel. OK it’s not a vehicle, but it was/is an old beautiful boat.

Owners were Jack and Georgia Bessent of Downey/Lake Arrowhead. Jack was an LA County FF. I mention him by name because there was a time when some inmates knew Jack. Besides being a FF he built custom pools, owned Santa’s Forest Christmas tree lot at Florence and Old River and was probably the best 60+ year old water skier I’d ever seen. Really Good people, they’re missed.
