So we picked up a new 6.2 Silverado crew cab from Jason yesterday. If anyone is looking for a new vehicle even a Ford, Dodge or Toyota, buy a Chevy just because of the service. Having worked for many dealers and purchased a ton of vehicles. Pain free best vehicle purchase I have ever made.

Thanks Jason!

Going to level it and considering the new Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Anyone running them?

Congrats on the new truck!![emoji1303]

What color? Pics???

Thank you! I will have to take some pics. Went with summit white, Z71, 6.2 LTZ. My dad and father in law both have new 1500's also with 5.3's. The 6.2 hauls the mail. Really glad we ordered it to get what we wanted.

Drove everything also just because part of me didn't want the same truck as dad and fil. Came back to the Chevy being the best overall setup.

Will do!

Interior is super quiet. Cooled seats are a huge plus. The 5.3 is a really good all around motor. The 6.2 for only 2400 more is really worth it. It is basically the same LS3 that was in the Vette.

Drove the 3.5 Ecoboost a few times before we ordered. Liked it, did not like how it sounded. Also the Ford interior to me was not as nice or comfortable. I will say the seats had a little more side bolstering. Which I liked. The price of a similarly equipped F150 was wayyyy more.

Do you know if you can order a 6.2 with a standard cab 4 wheel drive or is a 5.3 as big as you can get?

PM Pinktaco. If I recall correctly he did a photo shoot or something with general for their new tires.

I think the 6.2 is only available in the crew cab.

I have a new crew cab with the 6.2. Very powerful but downshifts all the time towing and you can't lock it in a gear like you can with the F150. My last truck was an F150 with 3.5 ecoboost and had quite a bit more power than the Chevy 6.2. I've already been through one trans and a corroded fuse block in the Chevy which is a '15. I'm headed back to Ford since a tow. I also didn't realize ALL of the Silverado crew cab half tons are built in Mexico until it was too late to back out of it.

I'm running Nitto Tera Graplers in 285-55-20, great tire so far.

I currently own a ford f250. The truck has been amazing and never let me down. it is a v10 and has been a work horse, only down side is the gas mileage. here comes the BUT ! I will never buy a FORD product ever again and that is because i recently just found out that FORD has donated 100 million to BLACK LIVES MATTER. Just google ford and black lives matter. I personally think the black lives matter group is a disgrace to america and everything this country stands for. So with that i can not support FORD ever again. Just my opinion and not try to start a political nightmare

My standard cab Z71 was built in Canada. I hear you on the transmission down shifting too much! It's because of the auto company's trying to get every last mile per gallon to meet the EPA requierments. My buddy's F150 does the same thing but there trans programming is a shade better! I've been in a Dennali with a 6.2 and it seemed a little better than my 2014 5.3 liter with a 6 speed trans. My wife's SS Camaro with a 6 speed auto is waaaayyy better programing!

I just researched your claim regarding Ford and the BLM and apparently it's not entirely accurate. Jason rocks and he hooked my parents up with their new truck. If anyone is considering buying a new truck, give Jason a call. ;)

Can you elaborate on what "not entirely accurate" means? Please... If in fact Ford did donate that money to BLM that is really disturbing to say the least...:yikes

Just did the same. Looks like Ford is in a pool with a couple others to donate 10 mil. Pretty much accurate to me. F ford! I can't believe they would do something like that. Cross them off my list...

Your new 6.2 is actually an whole different motor than the LS3. It is very similar to the 2014+ LT1 vette motor. It's direct injected, more power, more torque, more mpg. Congrats on the new truck!

I need to decide leather or cloth and I really don't like black interiors... every white truck has black.

I have the cloth and it's been great so far. Even has the heated seats.

Either way Jason is the man and makes buying easy

I would look at the Toyo R/T

Nitto and Toyo are the same company. Ridge Grappler is built off of the RT carcass. 314 a tire is the best on the RT I can find. 266 each for the ridge. Also weight. RT is 65 a tire. Ridge is 59. Same E rated.

What was the price comparison ?

2016 Lariat FX4 3.5 ecoboost optioned the same was 9k more out the door. This was with employee pricing through Galpin. A close buddy of mine is the parts and service manager. Payment for us would have been similar but for a year longer.

The leather is the way to go. It is personal preference, but to me the cloth is pretty firm. Per your leveling question. 2 inch level (under strut or above the strut) will let you run 285/65/18's. Basically a 33/11.50 tire without any trimming or any rubbing.

Can you go a hair larger and trim or zip tie the liner back? Yes. Also aftermarket wheel backspacing will let you go a little larger. The kits are super easy to install. You can also spend more on Bilstein 5100's, Fox or Icon coilovers. Better ride, more money etc.

How familiar are you with the abs/traction control on these trucks?

A level kit sounds perfect. I've got a 6" lift on 315's now and I'm over it. Getting old SUX. [emoji13] I have leather now and love it... just not liking the black leather.

Main reason we sold our lifted Duramax. Running errands climbing in an out gets old.

The black perf leather is nice. Cooled and heated. My dad has a 15, my fil has a 16, both with the leather. Still looks and feels new. Tint the windows and use a sun shade.

Completely different suspension. Torsion bar on the 2500 vs coil over on the 1500. I agree though. The Cognito setup on the 3/4 rides really well.

Sorry saw the first post only thought you were getting a gas 2500.

Bumper pull 11k it would do it no problem. Wouldn't pull any 5er with a half ton.

I have a hard time imagining a 28' toy hauler GVWR is 11k or less.

Why? It's actually easier on the truck. Takes the load from being outside the truck and being transfered via torque to the load being directly on top of the rear axle. The only issue I can think of is (assuming the truck it's rated for the weight of either style trailer) the 5th wheel probably has more pin weight than the tongue weight on a conventional trailer and half tons typically have a fairly low hauling capacity relative to a 3/4.

the toy hauler is actually 11600 maxed out with all tanks full and cargo weight maxed out. I will never tow with all the holding tanks full or max cargo weight. so i would say I am probably closer to 9500k. I have had friends tow hers with half tons and they did good besides going up hill. Would i run into the same problem with the 6.2?

Depending on the grade 9500lbs you slow down to 50 and just cruise without killing the truck. Go drive one. My dad and fil have new 5.3 trucks. They run really well, but the 6.2 is night and day.
