So…still traveling and decided to let you peeps know I finally decided to get another pup after Roxy passed.

I looked at a minimum of 50 pups before I decided which one to bring home and give a new life for me and the pup.

So…I wanted a pup that would keep me active and would have to be a smart one.

Meet Phoenix brought home from the Maricopa County Animal Shelter. She is a 2 year old Texas Heeler. That is a mix between a Australian Stub Tail Cattle Dog and an Australian Shepard. She came home about 45lbs and in the apx 5 weeks I have had her she has put on about 5lbs so she is right at 50lbs now.

I named her Phx just as I did my red nose pit. Same situation. Not because I got her from the Phx shelter but because she has a new life and rising from the ashes.

She is full of energy and always wants to be by my side. A little tough pup for sure. A regular roughian. Lol.

One thing that trips me out is she can grab your wrist or arm like she has monkey hands. Its the damnedest thing but as I talk to other Cattle Dog owners they say…yep…a breed trait. Never had a heeler before so I didnt know.

Anyhow…All is well in our travels and she loves going new places. We are in Idaho outside of Yellowstone.

Here are some pics ;)

Great looking pup!!! If in West Yellowstone you gotta go to Wild West Pizza and get “The Dude”. We go there in the winter for snowmobiling that that pizza is a hit with everyone that joins us. Safe travels and great to her from you.

Absolutely bitchin!!

Heeler breeds are amazing and amazingly smart. They do need ALOT of attention and exercise or they get bored. My last was a Boarder Heeler(boarder collie and blue heeler)

From the looks of it.. she adopted you🤷🏻‍♂️👍

Your new buddy. Very cool. Good job rescuing.

We are a foster family for a rescue and I can tell you it's a great feeling getting these pups adopted. The new owners send us pics of the pups settling in for their new home life.

This was our last rescue we found a home for.

I've rescued quite a few dogs but my most challenging by far was my Wiemer, dog was insane in the beginning.
She was older and I knew nothing of her history, sadly about the time she became a great dog her liver failed. View attachment 1152112
They're great dogs. We're on our 4th. The males are way more chill.

If anyone is interested in rescuing a Weim there is a 5 yr old male at the Downey animal pound. There's a video of him on FB. Happy guy just smiling and waiting for someone to take good care of him.
