The voith systems have been around for a long time, they use them alot on tugs. This looks to be a refinement of that. It's a pretty cool system, applies a lot of torque to the water and gives great maneuverability.

I knew they had pods on the tugs and stuff but haven't seen this before. Pretty damn neat

I read that earlier today. It's kinda hard to picture how it provides more forward thrust than vertical, but then again I'm getting dumber by the day.

It looks like a prop that makes clevers seem cheap. Neat tech, but what makes it so useful is the mechanism, which is way more complex than I can figure. I'll stick to a screw turning in water.
