Cheap Pixel models from the google store.

Pixel phones are currently the best option for android as they are designed to work natively with all the base android apps, not the garbage that some phones like Samsung try to force you into.

Samsungs are like the Apple of Android, they force you into their app system, and do not play nice with the regular Android apps for Phone, Text Message, Voicemail, etc.

Kinna true...

But I have no problem using my apps of choice?

You have a Pixel? You happy with it?

Motorola Moto G, cheap and good.

But I don't think you can pay at checkout with it.

I use cash whenever possible so it doesn't matter.

The Samsung Pay app works 10000x better than google or apple pay. It works almost everywhere. Even readers that don't have NFC or Apple pay hardware.

My Samsung got wet and I had to wait a few days for a new one. Guys at the Verizon store told me to go to Walmart and get one of those, I think it was $140.00, damn thing after getting it loaded up with my stuff from the cloud is almost a carbon copy of my almost $900.00 phone, it's a tad slower but not much.
I have a 2nd SIM card in it and it goes with me in my carry on if I ever lose or wreck my main phone, very cheap insurance.

Shit, I'm still confused...:p
Easy to do, opinions are all over the place on issues like these. Maybe try PC Magazine reviews for android phones.

It's like @Racey said...

The Samsung come with a Lot of bloatware you don't need, and that hogs up space you'd get to use for pic, or apps that you DO want.

pixel is made by Google, who also makes Android, so you get the native apps for the phone.

Now...

Will your wife give a flying fuck about any of this?? Highly doubtful! Lol

I know I've dropped my Samsung phones a number of times. The screens don't break, and they just keep on ticking.

I like dependable myself. 👍🏼

I had a samsung for a while and switched back to a pixel, voicemail would not work without using the samsung app. The icon for it doesn't show inside the standard android phone app, the samsung voicemail app sucked as it took forever to download the voicemail before listening, so essentially it rendered voicemail useless in my case.

The standard android phone app the voice mail is instantly loaded and ready to play whenever you want.

I have had a Nexus, and Pixel 3 and a Pixel 5.

The pixel 3 was my favorite as it was still a very small phone, but eventually the speaker gave up so the ringer was very very quiet. That's when i got the Galaxy S22, that didn't last long i got a Pixel 5, Fantastic phone excellent camera, excellent battery life.

I always buy a model that is a couple years old, I won't pay more than about $350 for a phone, it's ridiculous.

Just get a goddam iphone....they just work and don't require a discussion on the interweb in order to figure out how to use it....

Unless your wife is a more of hands on Ford type person....then get an android.

How wet did it get? Wifey bumped mine off the end of our dock last summer. It spent close to 1/2 hr @ 6+ feet deep.
Found it, doused it in isopropyl alcohol and blew it dry with compressed air.
Posting with it now 😊
(S22Ultra)
I had the screen replaced and they didn't get it resealed correctly, guy wouldn't take any liability for it, said he told me it wouldn't be waterproof anymore which is bullshit.
I had 4 boats then and it mattered, wouldn't have had him do the screen otherwise.

Don't laugh Too loud...

These days, they are giving away their flagship phone. Kinna how they broke into the market in the first place?

For those old enough to remember, Apple put free computers in all the schools back in the day.

They knew those kids would eventually turn into adults, and be totally bought in to the Apple machine!

Looks like years later, their scheme has backfired. All those kids, that are now adults, still Expect shit for free!!!

🤣

I typically go in the Google store and buy the cheapest "a" model they have, unlocked. Couple hundred dollars at most (usually). Phones have worked great and don't come loaded up with bloat wear from the networks.

This

I had a pixel 4A for a couple years and it Was a great phone but needed an iPhone for work due to FaceTime and photo sharing on job sites etc.

I paid like $349 for the pixel 4A and the iPhone 14Pro that replaced it is no better IMO.

The pixels in the pixel phone don't work with the apps that Samsung controls. Therefore proving Samsung is the King and builds phones on par with lets say my Fridge with a 3x replaced Samsung motherboard in my Made in USA Whirlpool.

Hopefully that clears things up.o_Oo_O;)
