Looking to get into a sand rail and have no idea how to value these. I'm looking at a 4 seater funco car with fiberglass panels. Good paint, good shape but nothing show worthy. The 4 seats is a must to me but it looks to be maybe originally a 2 seat car that's now a tight 4 seats. Rear engine chevy 350tbi mild build mild cam with bus 4 speed trans axel and he said "reinforced axels". He originally wanted 10k for it. I am considering trading for my car which is a rat rod/street/drag car of sorts. 2006 chrysler 300 hemi with supercharger, built trans, methanol injection, built drive shaft, micky Thomson slicks and a set of street tires on 20s too. I've put 20k into this car and was hoping to get 10-11k out of it... would I be crazy to trade this? I'd hate to get something and find out the frame/engine/trans combo is worth considerably less than the 10k I could get for the car.

Personally I would say your 300 is worth considerably more money then that sandrail.
IMO That rail ain’t worth much, bus trans w a 350 is a combo waiting to fail. Beam front end. Youd be better off throwing paddles on your 300 and hitting the sand

Right? I mean I have a fully built and fresh weddle 5 rib in front of a 2387 type 1 and the trans is the only thing I worry about…. besides getting caught without my helmet on.

OP, if you get that car, the first thing I would do is pull the trans and have it gone through. on a mild 350, it could be OK it all just depends on how you drive it. And BTW, reverse is as fragile as eggs. It’s fine for rolling in and out of the trailer and such but never give it any power in reverse.

I am no vintage sand car expert but that looks like a old hi-jumper 2+2 maybe or 1600 spec car stretched for 4 seats, I cant imagine putting any money into that other than a museum piece, 10k seems wild to me but each to there own.
