Greetings,
The Federal Highway Administration, Central Federal Lands Highway Division (CFLHD) is conducting a public meeting with virtual option to seek input on the proposed visitor parking and various improvements including a marina. The project team will hold this meeting to give interested persons the opportunity to view maps and graphics depicting the improvements and to discuss project related issues such as constructability, wildlife habitat, water related issues, and other topics.
The in-person public meeting is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. MST (local Lake Havasu, Arizona time) located at the London Bridge Resort 1477 Queens Bay, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 in the Convention Center Room.
The virtual public meeting option to join the formal presentation is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023 at 6:30 p.m.
If you plan on attending virtually, please pre-register at https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/875405202472645207
The virtual public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the meeting, please contact Toni Pankau, CFL Project Manager at (360) 409-0697 or [email protected] no later than 4 p.m. MST, Sept. 1, 2023. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for CFLHD to arrange.
All virtual attendees will be muted, and questions can be entered through the chat function. If you do not have internet access and would like project information mailed to you or would like additional information regarding the project, please contact Toni Pankau, CFL Project Manager at (360) 409-0697 or [email protected].

cant say i'd be stoked on this...

why is this needed w/ Pirates on one side (gas + slips + launching), and Topock on the other side (gas)
same thing I thought as well. its not like we are up there every weekend or anything but knowing it will extend the no wake zone a considerable distance makes running up to pirates and topock less attractive to me.

I didn't ready anything about extending the no-wake zone, is that just the "assumed end result" once this goes in, or is that somewhere in the plan?

Can't see a real 'need' for this.
Unless they do some major freeway upgrades that's going to be an accident waiting to happen with cars and big rigs flying by at 75+ mph.

I'm not sure this will extend the No Wake Zone near the bridge... but it could...

They should extend it approximately 200 yards past Crispy Beach or until you get into the bathtub, whichever is further. That would make for some great beach area without dealing with the monster wakes coming up from Havasu. I could probably get away with one anchor at that point.

I would say there is not much area for RV camping with a launch ramp on the Arizona side of the river between Havasu and Laughlin. Pirates does have RV camping, but it's on the CA side and is pretty much booked all the time. Unless I am missing a spot on the AZ side that has RV spots with a Marina? You can launch at Topock, but I am not sure about their parking situation. I want to say it's not great, but have never launched there myself.

My first thought is why ? It’s not like the feds / county is doing this for the betterment of boaters .

How’s that any different than Jack Smith though? It looks like it’ll be set up like that… but with 1/100 the capacity. 😂

I dunno?

There is a turn there and it’s right next to an existing no wake zone. Seems only obvious they would extend it to encompass a new launch ramp.

You got guys above that want it extended south another 3/4 of a mile so they can beach their boats easier…

Would a marina really get used there? Where would everyone come from?
The only people I see using it or benefiting from it would be people from Topock/Golden Shores.

It will absolutely have to extend it. There aren't going to have boats going buy at 30-100 MPH as others try to launch 500 feet away.
Then they should extend it up to the entrance to Pirates Cove as it's a shit show and dangerous going in and out of the cove... The river seems pretty wide down at the newly proposed site so we'll see if this ever is built.

The water depth and sandy bottom fluctuates a lot right there. Not to mention the bend and change in direction.

Seems like a dumb spot to put this?

The no wake zone starts right there already - looks like the proposed location is just south of the I40 / white pipeline bridge. I think the no-wake bouys would be right on their proposed lawn........another excellent enforcement opportunity! :p
