Doug (dougiebear111) left the Howard shop today with this new Howard 288 in tow headed
for Lake Sicamous B.C. This is the second Howard Sport Deck for this customer (the first being a 28 SDS w/Merc 525).

This 288 is powered with a Merc 600SCi and has all of the Howard features and then some! It also represents a new style gel scheme for Howard as it epitomizes class showing that sometimes "less is more"; Classy, Racy and Sporty all at the same time.

For our Canadian friends in the Shuswap/Sicamous area of B.C. if you see the boat on the Lake stop and say hello to John (the owner). Ask for a ride; I am sure he would accommodate you.

Not that one of these would be in my budget. But would it be possible to build one with a bench all the way. across the back without the walk off?

I would say yes, that is probably possible

Any idea on the upcoming 288's that are supposed to have Teague 1050's and SCX's?

That's what the SCS is for.

Couple of teaser pics.

This is the first of 3 288s on order that will be powered with Teague 1050s. Number 2 is currently being rigged and will be headed to Florida upon completion and #3 currently is in the mold. Bob will be testing the boat day today or tomorrow and the plan is to deliver it this weekend to Havasu.

When is the boat going to be tested in LHC? I'd like to be there for that!

What kind of speeds are expected with the 1050?

How fast did Kap's deck run? I think he had like 1100hp?

Officially at the Lake of the Ozarks shootout a few years ago I think it was 118.

I think at his max he had a decent chunk above 1100hp:D

Granted I think the Teague 1050's are underrated.
