I'm gonna try and add pics to this thread as we progress building/adding to our family "compound" up on Beanpot Hill/Lakeside 2, AKA "millionaires row" :D we actually started this deal back in 2004 when we bought our 1st place. Myself & Mrs. Skyskier went partners with our youngest daughter an her husband. At that time we only had one grandson, age 3, NOW, we've got 3 grandson's an a grandaughter, so as one can imagine, the 3 bedroom, 2 bath place IS getting "small" . When we bought the place next door too us in 2005, I wanted to bulldoze it an build a HOMONGUS boat barn but I was voted down an we kept it as a rental income property to help in paying for itself, did NOT exactly pay it off, but close enough. We ended up moving the original fence line to make room for the boat barn you see in these pics, when we get the new dbl. wide in, we SHOULD be able to have room enough to put up about a 16 wide, 70 foot deep rv/boat barn directly behind the new pad, with space to park our cars etc. on the other side, leaving "open space" in between the two dwellings.

This is the "new" too us trailer we're moving up to Beanpot Hill, it's sitting in a trailer park in Sun City Calif. right now. The same outfit that hauled off the old one is going down next week to tear it down and haul it too Parker an re-assemble it on our lot.

Update on the progress here on Beanpot Hill,................................1st off, I'm shocked at how smoothly everything has gone thus far, EVERYBODY has showed up when they said they were gonna, EVERYTHING has gotton done on time :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup,............we had Doyle Thompson from Eherenberg come up & haul off the old mobile, him & his crew went down to Sun City Calif. tore down the new pad, had another guy transport it up here to the hill, Doyle & his crew were here waiting to put it back together, Wheeler is gonna do all the patch work where the trailer came apart for transport, also gonna take out a couple walls, my pal Rip "the dippie hippie" :D backhoe operator has been coming & going between his other job's etc., etc., he's really the one that's kept this job on track & scheudle :thumbsup,..............I will HIGHLY recomend any of these guy's to anyone in Parker that need's any type of this work done, mighta been able to get it done a LITTLE cheaper IF I shopped it around, BUT, this is NOT my 1st "rodeo" in dealing with Parker construction crews, these guy's HAVE come thru an done EVERYTHING they said they were gonna do AND done it when they said they would. I'm pretty confident we WILL be in by thanksgiving week, at least be able to flush the toilet's, cook & watch TV etc., etc.

Little confussed so I have a couple questions?

1) Is this on CRIT land?
2) Re you setting the trailer at ground level hence the removal of all the dirt?
3) The backfill block wall you speak of... Is that a footing for the house meaning it will be barried leaving a crawl space below ground level undr the house?
4) Re you keeping the old house on the other lot so you have two houses and a large barn between them or is the house in the pictures your neighbors place to the left of the existing barn?

This is up in Lakeside II, deeded land, the trailer will be at ground level so all that dirt is from the "hole" that it sit's in, the block wall is built flush to the oustside of the trailer so when they grade/level the lot it'll keep the dirt out from under the house and leave a crawl space under the whole trailer, probably cost us an xtra $6K to go this way but I think it looks a lot better than sitting 3 feet up above the ground. My daughter and her family will be in the other place with our boat barn in between. When I'm dead & gone the kids can do a lot line adjustment an sell the newer one off or use it as a rental. As it is now , we kept both places with the septic tank etc. on their original "lots" so we just took the fence down in between the 2 to make our "compound". The best thing about where we are, 1.3 miles from the free launch on old river rd., go across the street, we're on BLM land with endless miles of off roading, ......the best of both worlds IMHO :D........................all of the people in this pic will be here for thanksgiving, plus another 20 + for a "sitdown" turkey dinner in the boatbarn :D hence the rush to be "in" by then.

Thank's guy's,................you hit the nail on the head about "location" for what we all like to do !:D, me & Pop put the Sanger in a couple week's ago, I timed it, from the time we left the house here till we were on the ramp on old river road, just a tick over 3 minutes, IF wed'a caught the light at old river rd. it would'a been under 3 :thumbsup...............we got in from our ride last night well after dark, pulled the bikes into the barn, closed the door, went in an showered, then sat down to dinner :thumbsup........................life is good :cool

It's all smoke and mirrors. :D

Just think how much work I COULD'a got done IF I didn't have to be like somekinda "playground referee " keeping ALL of the tradesmen off of each other's "space" :skull:D

Denny, I'm guessing that you are a non union shop? the lack of a hard hat on your employee gave it away. :D

union shop ????? shit, IF I'da used union peep's we'd STILL be in "planning" stage !! ...............unions suck :skull.............I'd bet the farm on work done by you, me, Digger AND Rip against ANY 6 "union member team" of 20 something year old "kids" :D considering the trailer did NOT get up to beanpot hill till 17 days ago, we got A lot done in a short time :cool:thumbsup.......................so while we aren't EXACTLY moved in, Mrs. Skyskier WILL be cooking the turkey in the new pad :D, I can flush the toilet's an turn on the AC, thanks, many thanks to you & Digger :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

got the old septic tank located, FINALLY, right where I said it was,......................3 weeks ago :skull AND after Rip tore up every other square foot of the lot

Man oh man, you've come a long way, since we last saw it. :thumbsup

Wheeler and Digger both have been putting in some lonnnng hours.............

I agree, now that it's in everybody is glad we went ahead with the extra time & dollars. Still thinking whether or not to put up an awning, I'm thinking maybe stretch some of that netting stuff you see at a nursery between the new place & barn, maybe not even pour concrete, just set up the outdoor area on the p-gravel.

Just think how much work I COULD'a got done IF all tradesmen on this job were card carrying Union members! :thumbsup:thumbsup

Damn Denny, just think what it would have been like if Digger, Dennis Mc Quinness and I weren't Union workers at some point in our careers. I bet you would be eating Christmas dinner in a van down by the river. :p

My shop stewart warned me about days like today, he said, "Go ahead and burn that card, you'll be not so unlike those draft dodgers that you'll find your self working Thanksgiving just so you can afford a turkey for dinner that night". I guess he was right, other than the turkey.

Thanks for Dinner! :D

update on the "compound ".................FINALLY, got it finished, found a guy IN PARKER that actually " SHOWS UP WHEN HE SAYS HE WILL" AND STAYS ON THE JOB TILL IT IS DONE. We took this awning down 3 years ago when we moved the trailer from Sun City CA. to Parker, I had three different guy's come in an bid the job for putting it back up,..............NONE of them wanted to mess with "that old shit" as THEY called it :grumble: THEY wanted to sell us "new shit" at 3x the price. Took these 3 guys two day's to re-assemble it, now I have the guy running TV cables under the trailer, wiring in a porch light up at the top of the entry way so no bugs will come in when ya open the door in summer, also gonna have HIM set up lights on the patio an a couple ceiling fans...................

If you have a place in Parker an need anything done I HIGHLY recommend Pancho he's local an like I said, he tells ya he's gonna be here at 8:00 am, he's HERE at 8.

his phone # (928) 846-5224
