No it was Lee Jackson's. They called it the Barron Signature edition or something like that.

Agree with you on the drives. They always boated Powell so speed vs reliability was probably a factor.

Have you tried short tube Maximus's yet?

I have not, but I'd be willing too.. I wonder what pitch they were running?

That’s correct. Put an Imco 2” shorty, full hydraulic steering and gentry turbos.
Curious how your 240 rode after adding the shorty. Been thinking about doing it on our 255, have heard on our bottoms they do well with a -2 but haven't really heard about the ride and handling characteristics.

I had the 600 hp Pfaff motor that came in the boat with the bravo drive. Ran just under 80 mph. I then did the Imco stand off steering and shorty and only picked up a couple mph. Not worth the money but did drive better. Then did the gentry turbo motor which was one of my ski race motors. The boat picked up about 15 mph with the right prop and handled fine except around the dock. The carb turbo motor didn’t like going in gear.

The 210, 24, 27, and 30 all need to be run with some tab at speed.

By stock tabs you mean single ram Bennett's they used to use or the dual ram Bennett sport tabs? Stock B1 lower?
Single ram Bennetts and a stock B1 lower.
