Wtf is with this f-n Nest thermostat. New to me at our new havasu house. Set and leave house at 76 and back from boating at 85. So I realize this fucker (Eco) turns my shit off when I’m gone. But I want manual, I tried a multi step process I found on you tube , but nope, same shit. Now I did check my phone 2 hours later and turned off eco and everything started and stayed on. But I forgot today and once again 85 inside. How do I get rid of this.

Separate question. Master which is pretty big only has one large air vent with a separate small return, master bath and closet are huge, with 2 small vents. Room doesn’t cool the same as living or other 3 other rooms. Other rooms each have one large vent. Living/kitchen have 4 large vents and 2 smalls with a large return. Master is furthest from ac unit. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Open the app then click on the thermostat. Then click the settings icon on the top right make sure "eco temperatures" is set to off. That should do it if I remember correctly.

Also make sure Home/Away Assist is set to off.

Forgot to add to the master bedroom question. I would put a 110v split unit in the master I think they are 1 to 1.5 tons. That should be plenty to turn the master into an ice box and will probably take some of the stress off the rest of the house and unit.

I believe if you signed up for the nest renew it can turn your temperature up as well to save energy

Go to ap, top right click the gear, home/away assist select, turn off. Otherwise it will default to away temp every time no motion in house
Also go to thermostat at bottom and select
auto schedule off
early on off
cool to dry off
sunblock off
eco temps you can set, min max temps, then when you click eco mode it should default to those temps when you leave

i basically turn every option off, they don’t work for a vacation home. Unless you program it around all the days/dates you will be there. With phone ability non of it is needed. Turn on when you leave ca, unless it’s like it is now 118 turn on night before so it can lower temp at night and not struggle. Leave and raise t stat or on phone and forget about it.

Screw the app, I removed the app off my phone as fast as I installed it.
When I moved into my new built house last year mine did the same shit. I’d set it for 76 or whatever and it didn’t care, off it would go doing whatever eco crap it wanted.
I fiddled with it and watched you tube until I figured out the manual menu on the thermostat itself. It was set for all kinds of time block temp changes that I went through and canceled one by one for the entire week.
As I recall it had at least 8-10 different presets for each day. I don’t know if that’s by default or if the builder set it like that?
Drove me crazy the first few days until I got sick of it.
Anyway, my house is small, and I live alone, and I don’t care about remote operation or phoning it in at all so it’s easy for me.
I set it, it stays.
When I go to bed I click it down a bit…when I get up I click it up a bit.
In the winter I set it to temp zone mode with a high and low points.
No app no BS.

Just a pain in the ass, house stays cool once it’s cool, but takes awhile to get from 85 to 75 when it’s 105-115. I caught it an hour after we left on the water, stopped eco, and house stays cool

I battled with our Nest for a year. Turned off all the wifi features related to it making its own decisions.

I had ZERO luck and to this day that communist POS is STILL making adjustments on its own.

I would never recommend a NEST product. Its an electronic invasive species.

You have to go to the thermostat manually, get into the settings, and go through it manually for each minute of each day. That’s what worked for me anyway.
I’d never seen one before and I figured it out, if I can do it pretty sure most others can too!😎😎
I got that stupid app far away from my phone, and barred the thermostat from my network. It ain’t connected to shit and never will be as long as I live here.
Now I run it manually like any other regular thermostat and it’s actually a pretty good little unit like that.
It’s easily switched by hand from heat to AC, and also switched to the combo deal for a temp range.
Pretty slick once you shut down the insanity.

Take the nest thermostat and back over it with your boat trailer 😆

On a serious note there are commercial wifi thermostats from honeywell that don't try to impose the green agenda on you

I had a Nest thermostat that cooked a heat pump. I got rid of it. I use a Honeywell that works great.

Yeah I’d recommend replacing it with a Honeywell home T5, T6, T9 or T 10.
