I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer. My son was diagnosed with cancer at 7 weeks. Prayer changes things, he is now 23, cancer free for over 22 years. Praise God! I will keep Jackson in prayer in Jesus name and for you and your wife. Very cute guy.

He had his surgery this morning and he did great. He had one small narrowing at the top of his colon that had to be removed...only about 2" other than that the Dr is very happy with how everything went and looked. Right now they are just managing his pain and waiting.
Here is a pic from last night his last bath with his stoma (that is the end of his small intestines). The next one is pre-op this morning and the last was right after his surgery. Thank you everyone for the thoughts, well wishes, prayers and texts. It means a ton. I will update as we go. Thank you again!

Update...

We were told by the Dr. that Jackson would be in the hospital for 7 to 14 days and 3 to 5 days with no food probably closer to 5. After surgery we were told by one of the nurse practitioners that they usually see kids go home in about 5 days after this surgery. We heard that and were ready to do backflips but cautiously optimistic. We were hoping to be out after 9 days like last time. Yesterday morning he had his first poop (let me say I don't think anyone has been more excited to see a dirty diaper than my wife and I). He had his pain med at 8 am which really relaxed him for about 90 mins. The Drs. rounded about 10 yesterday and told us we could try feeding him 1 oz of breast milk to see how he did. To say that he was hangry was an understatement (when he was awake he was inconsolable). That 1 oz was gone in about 2.5 secs, he burped went to sleep and pooped. We were told now he can breast feed...so 90 min later he drained both boobs and back to sleep. At about 4 yesterday the nurse practitioner came in and asked us if we wanted to go home, to say surprise and shock were the flavors of the minute would be the understatement of the year. The 3 of us talked for a good while...we voiced our concerns the biggest being his pain...at this point we realized that he had not had any kind of pain meds in over 7 hours and he seemed to be happy and content she presented her side and said that he was probably a little sore still but he was mostly hungry...well to make a short story long...we were able to bring him home last night. We got home about 8 pm and to say we were all relieved is another understatement. He is off of all pain meds and eating like he never missed a beat. he slept for about a 5.5 hour stretch last night and let me say Summer took full advantage of every min of it.

Again I want to thank everyone for their prayers, positive thoughts, words of encouragement texts and calls. It really helped us through a very tough few days and for that we are eternally grateful!!!

Here are a few pics from the last couple of days...

The first couple of pics are him the 1st and 2nd day after surgery. the 3rd is after his first poopie diaper, the 4th is after his first breast feeding and the last one is the ride home last night.
