Old school.. That's how they used to rig some boats back in the day. :) I like the way it looks personally, gives the deck a "longer" appearance in my mind.

Please keep the pics coming!

RD

We never have put nose mounted bow lights in for the reason that they leak air, and if you ever flip the boat the nose will be air tight and allow it to remain floating..... if you have a nose mounted bow light it's going to the bottom.

When I see this photo_reminds me of the starts of the marathons back in the early 80's when I was in 1st grade, Schiada's all lined up on the starting line:

Just like the center_bottom photo in the below poster.

Here's one of my favorite's when my dad was out running on Nacimiento_Las Tables one Easter weekend ('82 or so) testing the newly refreshed motor (which back then, as torn down every other race or so).

And this is the blown motor that Dad and Charlie Squire setup for the 1980 season. Dad wound up selling the motor after a season to a drag boat racer. Dad then went to a naturally aspirated motor that provided seasons of reliability and had sufficient power to pull my mom in the marathons. The guy who bought the motor, dropped it in his hydro and the boat woundup coming apart in race and discinigrated at some crazy speed. Motor is sitting in about 500' of water in the bottom of a lake somewhere, from what I remember. sean

Yes, a few floating around the family photo albums, would need to look up ans scan. This was Ron Spindler's boat. I saw Lee, Heidy, and Ron the other weekend and was asking about the old Ski UseMe boat. Supposively up in norcal - San Francisco region. I haven't seen her on the delta or Clearlake in recent times, but Ron loved to go out and run her. I remember him running the 788 yellow 21' that he had. Wicked fast....

Ron is an engineer. He either owns or is a partner in an engineering firm in Van Nuys ?(The new home of Schiada Boats).

Lee / Gail, and Lee Squier/Heidi spend time at Naciamento when they vacation with the spouses and kids

Used to be EFI! Now its carburated. Dunsmore just built the motor for him. I also went for a ride in this in irvine. Runs real strong.

Boat was built with an efi TT motor, resold without motor. Owner said it had 63 gears, and they were too big.

I had to post this, it was the best handling, fastest in the east in it's time !969 1973. I sold the boat to a person in Canada who kept it in his showroom until a year ago the owner passed away and was resold. It's the same as I sold I am told after all these years. I tried to make Len proud, it was and still a beauty, done in blue metalflake and white. RIP Len

Its a 77 hull that was stripped and re-gel'd 7-8 years ago. It's been a slo build and all 1-1/8" hardware now. It's the old #214 Family Fued boat for those that remember way back.
Turbos are fresh and sitting in my garage awaiting another project. I even had Ron Davis make me a couple of new custom intercooler cores that are still in bubble wrap just before the turbo deal was removed.
misc214.jpg

I had to pull this because I lost 2 pistons and an exhaust seat in the first hour of running it. The block and heads were from an o-ringed merc blue motor I ran a 250 blower on for years @ 5 lbs boost in an offshore boat. When we overhauled it for turbo use, the o-ring grooves were never cut just right and @ 10#'s of boost even with studs, I had water seepage in 2 cylinders @ 5200 rpms. Not good. I had a couple blower dealios in the shop, so I thought I'd go for it this time around. Having Peto build and dyno it also gave me drop and run fun. Time to f-with tuning it on the water is too hard to come by these days.
