It's the age old story of Dirt Bike buddies faaaaaading away!

Bought a new bike and it has only been ran once this season. 😐

So if you like Ocotillo, Glamis, etc and would like another "swing'n dick" in your group the next time you ride, please shoot me a PM.

Thank you for your consideration.

Same has happened to me. Everyone got lame and bought stuff with 4 wheels. I'm the only dirt bike guy now and representing on a CR250. One positive is I have someone to carry the beers and extra fuel. They go on long rides and go to and burn about 4-5 gallons of premix.

SoCal Dirt Bike Group on FB is a pretty cool group of people. Lots of women involved , lots of people posting rides all over southern California. I know a lot of them ride Ocotillo but I haven't seen much mention of Glamis. All levels of skill and they are always seeming to be looking for more riders. About 20 of us were at the San Diego SX race and most had never met in person until then.

Sorry, I am one of your friends. I have 6 dirt bikes that haven't been ridden in years. Been using the sxs and rock crawler now. I used to ride atleast once a month, between the track and trails. Now I am so out of shape couldn't even ride a regular loop if I wanted to.

Lots of stuff going on at Glen Helen in the next few weeks. I think D37 and SRA are running grand prix races and ARX is running on the Vet track. Give strong consideration to the D37 race at 29 Palms coming up in April or May. The track isn't intimidating like GH can be, with tons of high speed straights and desert terrain makes for a great place for the more average riders. The Vet track at GH is very fun while the National track gets changed up quite a bit. The biggest of the hills out there are no joke.

I've never been a big track guy.
I always think someone is going to land me.
I'm kind of a puss that way.😬

I stopped going to the track when I thought I was doing good on a YZ250F... Then some kid on a KX65 flies over my head, lands a triple, and is gone. I didn't even finish the lap, just pulled off the track, loaded my bike, and never returned.

Then you'll say, it's "ladies only trip" and I can't go!
😉
Lol...I won't buy a bike then. You go out and get your ride on during the day. I'll stay back at camp and keep the ladies glasses full and the music bumpin....I'll have some good ass bbq hooked up and some coldies ready for you when you get back. The ladies will be safe and entertained with me. 😂😂😂

Buy your wife a bike and teach her how to ride. You will both have fun!

I’ve only successfully pulled this power move off once. I’m not sure I have they type of luck where I could do it twice!

You don’t know if you don’t try! I bought my future wife a Yamaha 125 in 1972 when we were in high school. She was waterski racing at the time and had great upper body strength. She turned out to be an excellent rider and still rides a Honda CRF230F. Before we had kids she had a Yamaha IT175 and she would ride with the guys and she was always right there with us. After we got married she got some other friends wife’s and girlfriends to try the old Yamaha and we had a pretty good group of male and female riders we rode with. Still have the 125 but she likes the electric start on the Honda! She still putt‘s around with the grandson and small rides but doesn’t do too many long rides anymore, she says shes getting too old for that now.

I might be one of your old friends😂 my bike has been ridden once a year (New Years trip) for the last 5-6 years. Didn’t get to take it out last New Years because of a new baby. My oldest will be PW50 age so I’m sure that’s when I’ll buy a new bike and get back into it.

Old ladies it's tough and more but I'll just leave it at that... riding with kids is fun. My brother and I always had fun at Ocotillo as kids rode slow enough we had time to "goof off" on all the little jumps and hill climbs along the ride. Then we started taking the mini bikes on the kid rides and just had a blast. I could never get into adult rides but my brother and I always had fun together. Guess when you ride in shorts and cut off T's it was a threat to the SRH guys. LBZ guys were cool though.

Hung my boots up 10 years ago but starting to get the itch to get a enduro to do some trail rides. Definitely miss certain things about riding that’s for sure! Don’t care if I ever turn another lap at a track ever again 🤣 if I get one soon I’ll let you know and we can go rip the hills!

Loved doing the SRA races! We rode a lot before kids still have the bike but the boat and RZR are getting pulled out way more. I need to clean the carb but she’s ready to go. Anyone on here doing SRA? If you’ve e never raced before SRA is a great place to start just sign up for beginner in your age group. they always start last so you can treat it like a trail ride just let everyone take of then just go your own pace. You’ll find out real fast how fun it is once you catch your 1st guy to pass then you can’t wait to pass the next one! That’s how I’ve got a few friends hooked.

Fortunate here too. We’ve got 3 tracks all within 30 minutes from the house, including Thunder Valley, our local AMA National track.

Nice bike. I had Dustin Pipes(HEP Racing) outdoors bike for a while.
As others have mentioned, best way to meet new people who ride is ride with some kind of club. I started racing with the Over the Hill Gang MX group years ago and met some of my closest friends there.

Mom seems onboard with it now, let’s hope her mind doesn’t change when he ends up in the bushes lol. I know grandma wants him in a cage if we go to Glamis so he might also have a 170 which mom should feel more comfortable with. It would also be cool to be able to have his younger brother in the passenger seat once he’s old enough. I won’t ride a big bike in CA, too many idiots. I had to deal with my dad getting T-boned while I was in middle school, not fun for either of us.

My parents never missed a swim meet or ball game in 10 years. Neither of them could ever bring themselves to come to a motocross race ever. They were just sure I was going to get hurt I think. Now I love watching my son race, and he crashes all the time LOL.
