I’ve registered and insured 5 fiberglass buggies in Az, 1 real Manx the rest knock offs, never had a problem, last 2 were through GEICO. All were registered as Vw bugs from the original vin numbers

So did you just give vin # and don’t mention it a Manx?

That used to be my car 4-5 years ago. It was insured through AAA, I just don’t remember If they asked for pictures. Enjoy it, I have great family memories in that car.
Is it a Steve Minor chassis?

It was a one of MGM's cars out of San Marcos and on a pan. I was the third owner I believe, and I brought it back from Oregon.

I Always kept them registered and insured as a vw bug. The moment you say manx or off road, you will most likely get shot down. I have had good luck through Geico in the past, but honestly, I haven't insured one in years, so not sure what the best way is now. I think we built that car as a roller back in 2005.

Viewed his pic on my phone and the orange pad on the B-pillar threw me off. But now seeing it on the PC it 100% looks like mine.
Insure mine as a custom VW stated value dealio.

Most stated value policies only require pictures once you go over their base value. For my 51 Chevy and 76 Bronco it was under $15000. Both will need to be evaluated and pictures taken. Bronco now, 51 after the build.

I register my Polaris ranger through Allstate as a recreational vehicles. I assume that's what it is.

Nice car and yeh I would have just said vw bug if it was built on a vw pan. Off road stuff is getting hard I got my sand rail done but In az they said handlebars it’s atv steering wheel it’s utv. I had to go back and forth with State Farm and say is not a sxs lol. Had to give pics etc otherwise the price would be more. They told me sxs are a problem and costly. But I did my cr500 trouble free for like 70 bucks a year 😱it’s plated

Back when i had my buggy it was street registered as a “Parade vehicle” said it was mostly trailered around and not very much road use. That let them keep the mileage down and I could use “stated value” for replacement cost.

This was through progressive.
