LOTO is in late August.. people aren’t going to keep going back and forth. West coast is the kick off and then LOTO, then boats head to Florida for the winter.
This is true.
Stacy wants to do an rdp regatta this year. It’s a ton of work to out these things on.. right now I’m still in scfw mode (yes we are still doing stuff for it) and trying to set next year up.

We will do an rdp regatta in the fall.
I’d love to make the regatta if it pencils out with the weekends.

Can we invite Thane to mark the sandbars for us!? (Only people from the OG RDP Regatta will get that!)

You Should probably just keep it the week before Desert storm every year so that people can come in town and stay for both weeks. Seemed to work this year.

Or go after DS one year and get feedback from participants what they liked better.

DS as a participant is a PIA. Seems like you’re always on the clock and have a deadline. SCFW is mush more relaxed.
My gut says the majority of participants like the relaxed schedule of SCFW and would be a good way to end a week of boating in Havasu.

First week of April sounds great, weather wise and the official kick off to boating season, however maintaining back to back with DS makes more sense for attendees, the first week of May seems worth it, even if a few are lost, the public will still be around to attend and may out weigh Easter weekends attendance? At the same time I believe with how many celebrate Easter at the lake possibly Easter weekend would not be an issue any way but would have to factor in that any event happening Sunday may be slim for that reason.

The most fun option🥁……is running it same weekend of DS, creates a little razzle dazzle and I think most now know SCFW is more fun and ultimately know where to attend😜
But historically DS hardly ever has perfect weather anyway…

I always liked the cooler weather when DS was earlier in the year.

Lots of peeps like Stagecoach as well.

Probably best not to compete with local events?

Just some thoughts.

First week of April is good if it can’t be May. Also would consider a run to springs one day and pirates the next. Could be fun.

Coachella 1 weekend of the 11th
Coachella 2 weekend of the 18th
Stagecoach weekend of the 25th

Good information.. makes me lean towards the first weekend of April even more. Z. Or the first weekend in may.

I believe the first weekend of April is a winner 👍🏻
Isn’t spring meetup usually the last weekend of March? I know that’s been a dud the last 2 years anyways. But I know frankoo did something weekend after this year.

Franko can do something weekend before if he’d like, it’d be a good opening to the April events, I’m sure he would work around SCFW dates as all that go to his meet up go to SC ofcourse.
The spring meet up doesn’t appear to be a conflict.

I have no doubt Frankie would work with Dave to not have a conflicting dates.

Totally May for the win. More people will stay in town and spend money if they are attending both events.

I vote Mid July. Can get a bitchen raft ups as the water is perfect! Weather is still usually good not monsoons.

April is just a windy mess historically. It might be nice on Thursday but by Sat it’s a shit show. That’s always what happens with desert storm.

Desert storm is still the big dog in terms of participants and crowds. Street show brings 10’s of thousands of people. Shootout still has large spectator crowds too. Poker run fizzeled out with the removal of the shotgun start.

SCFW could be the opener to the headliner DS

This is turning out to be just like offroad with too many sanctioned events and forcing people to pick and choose. No one wins when this happens

As was said in another thread.. I don't want SCFW to grow into some crazy monster of an event like the street show. Our focus is on good times for the participants, exposure for the sponsors, and most importantly raising big money for the local kids.

Logistically speaking the Riviera can only hold so many people so you will never see a turnout like the street fair.. The docks can only hold so many people as well during the dock party, so either next year or the year after I'm going to have to figure out some kinda limiting factor on that as we were pretty much at capacity Friday night.

You are incorrect about the participant numbers though. Not that it matters, but I believe we actually had more registrants than DS this year.

Meant to bring this up to you the other day.... Riviera has a rule regarding kids on the docks and life jackets. There was absolutely ZERO enforcement of said rule by security.

Straight from the license agreement all slip holders signed...
12. All children twelve (12) years of age or under are required to wear life jackets while on docks or
other areas adjoining the water, and children under ten (10) years of age are not permitted on the docks and
finger piers without the immediate presence of their parents or other responsible adults. Conduct of all parties
shall be subject to all safety regulations of the State of Arizona and the United States as appropriate.

First I’ve heard about it.. but I would think that would fall more under parenting?

Agreed but was something I noticed after dark… surprised they weren’t enforcing on the docks for liability reasons…

Docs were rented to an event, event liability insurance would set those rules
