Im trying to buy a Toyota TRD offroad crew cab, 4x4, with lift kit amd skid plates for my son. Hes graduating summa cum laude in EE from CO school of mines (did it in 3 yrs, proud dad).

However, i cant find one in Denver area. Havent had to buy a new car in a while.

Does anyone have any Toyota hookups or ideas?

Thanks

Ha, I sincerely wish you luck.
I spent months looking for this or something similar (TRD Pro) and gave up. Even used, inventory is low and prices are at or more than new. Ended up buying an entirely different truck.

Sounds like you raised a good one, hopefully someone in your area will come through.

@TOBTEK is resident Toyota Guy. But they are very hard to find. Bought 1 for my Mom last year non 4x crew and used 2018 it was probably what it cost new. Had 10k miles on it.

Buying a new vehicle right now sucks! We ordered a Suburban in April and it was finally finished being built a month ago. Now it's stuck at the factory in Texas because of the issues with trucking. It was supposed to be here yesterday but was not on the truck. The GM is now dealing directly with the trucking company trying to find out WTF is going on. I would not buy now if you don't have to. Good luck though...

You can look at inventories on the Toyota website. Be prepared to pay way over MSRP. The stealerships are taking full advantage of the supply chain crisis.

Find a dealer that will order one for you and get exactly what he wants, might be three months like the last one I ordered but I want what I want lol. I just built a loaded off road on their website just to see and it's pushing 50k MSRP.

I agree, don't Spoil the Special Occasion with a Used one.

Priced one Saturday. TRD offroad. 45K. Plus tax license etc. 6k dealer mark up.

They're out there. Be ready to point and shoot soon as you locate.

Thanks for the replies. Really want new. We priced some...damn!!! His old suzuki sx4 is dying and were trying to get the family together for christmas , his car may not make it from Denver to Los Alamos so we need the truck in the next few weeks.

And yeah his 24 yr old sister works at the lab and did CU with applied mathematics and CIS double major in 3 yrs also. Our kiddos are amazing.

We always told them keep your nose clean, work hard, study hard, and it will pay off. Buying him this truck is the least we can do. #lucky #goodkids

To be honest..
I have 2 sons
One is in expensive trd pro
One is in a not expensive new ranger.
The ranger smokes the trd for comfort, ride, mpg, power, and looks in my opinion

Tacomas are great, proven, reliable etc
Dollar for dollar its ranger all day

That kind of money you can buy a 1500 ram Laramie with all the nice equipment maybe even diesel and they’re actually out there a better supply now. Some models even have small rebates. And not lose the fillings in your teeth every time you go over a bump in the road. I get the Tacoma, but it’s the worst right of any truck ever meet I think.

I’m not buying it but think about it he can get a ram 1500 four-wheel-drive Big Horn with a diesel engine for 45,000 after rebate and it’s a 2022. That’s a lot of truck for the money

Ha ! Just give him an IOU now , and get him one when things cool down .
that is the best advice. then in two years he can go order exactly what he wants. today, if you find one it will be over priced and may not have the options he wants.

Thank you for the suggestions and help
