Eat some Nashville hot chicken. Don’t go hot as that stuff will burn a hole in your gut. Crazy stuff.

Bar hopping is fun and most of them have pretty good bands that are tying to make it in the country scene.

As stated above....

Lower Broadway for bars and music.
Johnny Cash museum
Country Music Hall of Fame
Ryman Auditorium concert
Grand Ole Opry (away from lower Broadway are by 1/2 hour)

Did anyone say bars and music???

Hit Hattie B’s for some legit hot southern chicken. Don’t forget the sweet tea. It’s only a few blocks up off Broadway. Pic a rooftop bar and enjoy.

Nashville's a fun town. When we go back to my home town that's were we fly into and wind up staying a couple of days there before returning to So Cal.

As said, Broadway and the honky tonks are a must. Some decent BBQ places also. It's an hour and a half drive each way, but we had a great time touring the Jack Daniels distillery and seeing Lynchburg up the street. Make sure to schedule the "tasting" tour. They have stuff there that doesn't get shipped anywhere else. The place is seriously just a giant still. Very little modern equipment.

Yes, hot chicken and waffles is a must and The Southern Steak and Oyster has the best in town.

These are all great recommendations. Nashville is one of my favorite town to visit, I've been 5-6 times. Last time we were there we found a resturant called Biscuit Love in the Gulch. They have what they call Chronic bacon. It is some of the best bacon I've had. It is now a must stop for us when we go. A good BBQ joint to check out is Peg Leg Porker.

Jack Daniels distillery is a must in my opinion, Broadway for night life, and find a way to get on Old Hickory lake even if you have to rent a pontoon. My favorite vacation in the last 5 years.

Yeah there's some beautiful country around that area. I'm sort of a history guy so I really enjoyed my visits (once at age 10 with the school and again at age 40 with the family) to The Hermatige, home of our seventh president.

For breakfast. Monell's. Seriously. It is unbelievable. You sit at a big table, family style. With strangers.

It comes out in courses. Like nine of them. The plates keep coming out piled high, and you take yours and pass to the left.

It was, as I recall: Cheesy Grits, corn pudding, eggs, potatoes, fried chicken, bacon, sausage, sugared ham, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cinammon rolls. I was full for two days. Every bite was good living!

Go rent a pontoon on Tim’s Ford lake. We went on Sunday. Water is 85, glassy, and the whole place is just awesome.

I second the Jack Daniel tour in Lynchburg. Excellent.

The Battle of Franklin Tour of the Civil War was very sobering. Huge battle. Six Confederate Generals were killed in that single battle. Be sure to go to the renovated, historic plantation house that served as the Confederate HQ and hospital.

I used to be in Nashville a couple times a month on business. So much to see and do it's crazy. Friendly folks, great music, more food and drink than a fella can handle......

Not sure if Printers Alley is still even going, but that was always cool. If your into the history at all, Fort Nashborough is kind of nice. The architecture in the town is awesome. If your wife is open minded the Classic Cat is always great.:D:D

Downtown Franklin is a great place to check out. Very small town feel.

There is a restaraunt called Puckets in downtown Franklin which is awesome southern food. Also, be sure to put Martins BBQ on your short list of places to eat. Very casual, very tasty.

Radnor lake is an amazing photography location. It’s about a 3 mike walk around the lake.

We don’t frequent downtown too often, but it is a very friendly city

What do you like to do? Is boating/water sports a priority? Fishing? You are only 100 land miles from Barkley/Kentucky lakes and Land Between the Lakes Recreational Area. Best water based recreational area inland USA (not counting Great Lakes). If this a priority check the area out, Kuttawa, Ky. Enjoy and have a great trip.

I second the advice SOD provided above. Nashville is a fun town for sure. Jack Daniels distillery is a must see in my book too.

How was Jason Aldeans? Friend of ours owns it along with several other bars on the main drag. I have yet to visit it. Going there in the fall.

It was cool! Place has like 3 or 4 stories and something going on at each floor, live music as well. We went on Thursday night so it wasn't terribly crowded, some decent eye candy walking around. A lot of bachelorette parties roll through that town. Luke Bryans' place is right next door.

Flying out to Nashville This Saturday night. Wife has a conference until Tuesday so free Westin Hotel until then. Driving down to do the Jack Daniels tour at 1:45p on Sunday! Should be a fun couple of days.

Downtown Franklin is great too.
Lots to see and do. Highly recommend getting out and mixing it up with the locals. Way different vs CA

We are in Pigeon Forge now. Went to Dollywood today. Super cool amusement park.Going to some distillery tomorrow and Monday. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Will be heading back thru Nashville then Memphis on our way to Texas next week. Nashville is cool but too much to see and do in a day. Memphis is also fun f you get out that way.
