Martins BBQ is legit. Low key place a little off Broadway. If you want to hit the most popular places plan on getting there early and/or standing in some lines. Overall, not a whole lot of planning necessary l. Walk down Broadway until you hear good music, cruise in and grab a beer. The bars with country singer names a have great bands. The women love the Miranda Lambert bar.
We’re back out there this weekend…. I’ll let you know if there’s something new. 😁

The majority of the night life is on Broadway. The closer the hotel is the better IMO

We track this guy down once a trip. Good stuff

Tried a lot of the top rated southern cooking restraunts and was very disappointed. Finally went to Monells at the Manor. It was amazing.

Have arrangements to head back to my home land in April for 5 days with just the wife and I. Staying downtown and can't wait to see family though 95% of them live 90 miles east of there. Oldest sister is 10 miles north/west and plans have been made.

Now Nashville is just like Las Vegas without the gambling!

I was thinking the same thing. Full on tourist trap with themed bars and restaurants. It's like the Irvine Spectrum with a Southern twist..

Rob, we were there in September. Stayed at the Gaylord. Awesome place but understaffed just like every other place in the country so alot of the places there don't open until mid day. Also It's about a 20 minute drive to downtown. Jack Daniels tour is a must. Downside is they can only serve you a ounce and a half in samples. But it was super interesting. We had 10 people and I would recommend doing downtown during the week. Complete shit show on the weekend!!! Favorite bar was probably the Whiskey bent saloon. Not the big name place but they had awesome music. Kid rock place was worth a visit but probably wouldn't go back. Ole red was cool. Also the Johnny Cash bar. Best band we saw there by far and some killer moonshine!

Monell's for breakfast. Go hungry. They are in Germantown.
It will be one of the most memorable meals of your life.

You sit a communal picnic table and endless trays and platters of food come out. Smoked Sausage, Bacon, Biscuits and Gravy, Country Ham, Fried Apples, Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Hash Browns, Cheese Grits, Skillet Fried Chicken, Corn Pudding, Cinnamon cakes... and you don't just choose a couple, you get ALL of them. Piled up and passed around. The restaurant is in an old house not some fancy new building.

Wiskey Bent, Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar which is right next door to Skulls which is a killer place for dinner if you can get a reservation. Kid Rocks is cool just because its a different vibe than the rest. There are some cool places off of Broadway as well for great music. Monells, Hattie B's, Martins BBQ, Puckets in Franklin or Leipers Fork. I don't agree with the Vegas comparison, the people are totally different and the casino vibe is shit!

The Bluebird Cafe is a must.

4104 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville

It's in a strip mall,

acoustic music only, no-name and big name artists. You never know who's playing on any given night

The drive to the Jack Daniels Distillery is really worth it, nice drive there, tour is great, lots of good information about the history of the brand.

A few more things that came to mind...

We had a blast at Tootsies and paid the extra cash for the VIP table at the front door. Great view for the band at the door and also the bartender takes care of you. We spent a few nights there.

We had a descent brunch at Dierkes Bentley Whiskey row.

Painters alley had a few good dive bars

Kid Rocks Bar was a good time overlooking the strip and he has some hot waitresses. Him and Dana White stopped by while we were there but we missed him. Apparently he drops in frequently.

Miranda Lamberts roof top bar was cool with good music.

Martins BBQ food was descent, the place is huge with lots of live entertainment.

Definitely recommend doing the Jack Daniels tour, its worth it even if you aren't a whiskey drinker. The history and the overall grounds of the working facility is pretty amazing in itself. If you do head out there is a good BBQ place called Barrel House in Lynchburg. Its a hole in the wall but well know BBQ.

We also booked a open air party bus which was pretty awesome too!

We had such a great time, would love to go back.

Have fun.

As said, Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk is a good time.

We also enjoyed the Ryman Auditorium ~ mostly for the story up front of how the Grand Ole Opry came to be & Willie Nelson’s ‘17 steps to Tootsie’s’ ~ where we also had a great time.

Country Music Hall of Fame was ok ~ best thing I found there was a story on Willie Nelson’s fire years ago. Said he pulled up, ran in to save his stash of weed.

Oh, and Larry had some girls invite him down for some “entertainment” while he waited for my sisters & I outside the souvenir shop. 😁

Just got back today from 5-days in Nashville. Spent the first day looking at property around the Rockwood/London area. Day two was spent looking around Franklin. Day 3 was Gallatin/Old Hickory Lake area and finally day 4 was Franklin and Brentwood area. During the evenings, I think we hit at least 12-15 bars on Broadway and had a great time. Met so many great people and loved the state. We still have a couple area we want to go back to check out, but I will say there is definitely a difference between the area around Nashville and the area towards Knoxville. The Smokey Mountains are amazing, plus it’s a lot slower lifestyle.

What a great state, definitely on the short list for retirement in less than two years.

During the June trip we enjoyed the lakefront community of Grande Vista Bay in Rockwood, around Watts Bar Lake. That area is west of Knoxville. We also enjoyed some of the communities near Old Hickory Lake (NE of Nashville), but we were told the water can be a little challenging if you don’t know the area due to debris and under water hazards. We also liked Franklin and Brentwood, but the lake is a bit of a drive from that area. Franklin has a cool downtown area.

We went back to Nashville in September and looked around Mt. Juliet, which is near Percy Priest lake. No lake front properties, but the lake itself was pretty cool. During that same trip we went down to Alabama to check out Lewis Smith Lake and fell in love with a house down there. Place was beautiful with a two story dock with three bays. That lake is huge and the water is very clean (Supposedly the third cleanest lake in America). Bad thing is it is very rural, with nearest decent sized town about 30 miles away, via rural roads.

We are going back to Nashville in June for 8 days to check out some other areas, including Lewis Smith Lake again and Tellico Village, on Tellico Lake, west of Knoxville. We are also heading to LOTO in May to look around that area for a few days.

I’ve heard things from a dude I met at the Good Guys Car Show and his only negative was lack of culture; food and entertainment but the people are great.
