So... Not too sure if those of you who arent Naci frequenters remember the lake water level last winter but it was at about 13% I believe at the lowest, if not lower. Well, I check the water levels today and its up to 96%!!!

The lake rose 13 vertical feet this last week! Just incredible that a lake of that size can fill up that quickly from just rain run-off.

Here's a couple links to webcams and the daily reservoir data.

Great place especially when high water.
4 feet from full pool!
Our good friend have land along the Swamp John arm and...Lots of Water all the way back!

You'd have to go way back to remember high water.

Now all the downstream water clients will get their share and it will be interesting to see whats left by late August.

I have only been there once, but it was a good time. Nice lake. The narrows were pretty fun... :party2:

Ya, this would be a great year to go to Naci for those people that have been in a long time or if at all. And Mandelon... the narrows are pretty much no more. Now the party has moved into Las Tables which is easier to navigate through but its still just not quiet the party that it used to be.

The lake levels all over Cali are coming up, and this is the only thing that makes ths miserable winter worth the misery. We have an absurd snowpack in the northern Sierra, even Lake Oroville is within less than 50ft of a full pool, so summer is gong to be a good one up this way. Folsom will stay hopefully full for all the folks down there, and my little lake will perhaps not see the pressure it has in the past.
My rain gauge stands at 66 inches for the year...

I have many great memories of Naci, some friends of the family had a place there. Several families would go up in April/Mayish to fish.Us "teenagers" at the time had to sleep on the floor, only to be awakend in the morning to Greg Shoemaker kicking us in the head saying " HEY,you want to go fishing?Get up you maggots" Good times:D:thumbsup

Went there in the early '70's with two friends for a week. I think we were 16-17 at the time. Tent camped and ran out of money on the third day we were there. Rangers gave us jobs cleaning the campgrounds, etc.

Watched a flatty v-drive named "Supercock" get towed in and pulled out after it sank. Guy stayed up all night working on the thing and was back on the water the next day.

One of my first introductions to Fast Boats.... great place.

The ramp at Heritage before and after. Crazy what a year does with good rain at that lake.

I would recommend Naci to anyone that likes to camp, has connections to stay at a house there, or is willing to rent a house. The nearest hotel is in town about 45 minutes from the lake. But that lake is always a favorite destination for us. Very user friendly, layed back and pretty BIG party atmosphere! We always have a great time up there. Thinking about hitting it mid May or even mid April before Desert Storm.

Tank those were the before and after pictures I was looking for!

I remember seeing your boat last year I believe up there. Looks like you usually stay at a place in Oak Shores I take it?

With all this good might come some bad. News was saying that if the Sierra's warm to fast this spring, there could be trouble with bad flooding.

We actually stay with friends in Heritage usually. WAAAY easier with the Cig there than Oak shores. I don't even think I could get around in Oak Shores.

The dock our boat is at in the first pic belongs to a buddy that has a sick house in Oak Shores though. It is right next to the gazebo house, just out of picture, set back a bit. There dock is great during the summer to just chill and watch the boats going to and from the narrows and what not. They also have a BAD AZZ Hallet V-drive, fully restored. Red and white with a polished out 350 in it. Thing is f*ckin' SICK!

I love that lake!:D

Tank seen you there numerous times. Nacimiento does not get snow melt off so no flooding once melt. It is the fastest filling lake in Ca. If it rains 3" in Big Sur the lake goes up 36". It is also fastest to drain if the farms need the water to keep the water table balanced. If you have not been to Naci this is the year. Last year we had some first timers and they left early I hit my prop in the marina on Memorial and the fish finder was at 8' the whole time unless by the dam. Like mentioned Tablas is the spot now. The no wake zone to the narrows getting extended half mile killed it.

Fishing is great Trolling with a sr-5 or sr-7 rapala will yield white bass and large mouth. The money lure we call it. Catfish crappie and small mouth bald eagles fishing next you. Dip creek and the slalom course are good spots to fish.

Ahh ok! Well then Im sure you've probably seen me and my uncle there before. Most people notice the 2 blue and white Lavey outboards following each other around. lol!

We really need an RDP Naci bash this summer.

Ya its a terrible lake for wakeboarding. Wakeboard boats are strongly encouraged to go elsewhere for their enjoyment as they just cant seem to find the space to have fun at Naci. :D

I actually do remember you guys running around (not too many whackers up there). A couple years ago I'm pretty sure you were in Las Tablas tied up with a bunch of flatties and jet boats. We floated over and partied with a couple of the boats. Good dudes. Lived up that way. Here's a pic

Im sure that was us. We always try to make a trip over there every weekend for a couple hours at least. Usually we hang out at our day beach though. But god only knows what we are going to do this year since there really arent any beaches with the water this high!

Also, Thank god I have a lifted 4wd for launching the boat!! hahaha!

Spilling for the first time since 1983. A rental pontoon boat is the safe way to enjoy the lake this spring. No reason to damage your own boat on the debris.
Tank, whadaya think?

Good call! Or just wait til the weather gets real nice and the water lowers to a usable level - in a month or so. ;)
