2 of my 3 pups do the same. Hunting for insects. They even chase crickets and butterflies. Lol. They are puppies so hoping they grow out of it. They do eat whatever they catch and that worries me a bit

Is that your dunce chair when you piss of the old ball & chain?
our old 400lbs fat woman neighbor brought that over for when she used to come by and get fucked up on white claws with the wife because she couldn't squeeze between the armrests on our chairs and I got tired of welding the frames back together.

She moved to Colorado 3 years ago and the chair just sorta disappears and reappears at times. I have 3 kids here now....nothing is ever in the same place I left it or anywhere near where it belongs.

He's 5....lol.

Another fun trick, when we're going for a walk and the wife or the kid has the leash, I yell "GET IT" if he passes a tree, and he'll strip all the bark off of the bottom 5 feet of the trunk with anger lol.

only about 1/2 the time he's asleep.

He hates boxes and wheels and mail, tries to kill 'em. Rolling the trash cans out is always an adventure....and all the wheels on the trash carts have teeth marks in 'em.

The lady at the bank used to look at me funny when I bring checks in to deposit with holes in them, till I showed a picture of where the mail ended up after it got halfway through the mail slot lol.

no...lol, I have no idea what he's after, and he never finds it....but he tears the shit of the "grass".

You obviously have an infestation of C.H.U.D.'s

I'd stay indoors after dark if I were you. 😲

He hears and smells moles and/or voles.
Doubt it’s gophers. You’d know if you had a gopher population.
That is the identical behavior all my cats displayed hunting moles.
Even the vertical leap.
Except the cats would usually rip the thing out of the ground.

That’s Fast Jack.
The all time mole hunting champion.

The only thing I've ever seen is squirrels....no holes in the ground, no other creatures. He does it at our grass beach at the river too, and wherever else he goes....but only when kids are out there. If he's by himself with no audience....he just shits in the grass.

You were wearing a hat...right? he doesn't like those either lol.

He barks/howls at everone that walks in the back, until he realizes who they are or I kick him in the head and tell him to STFU....lol. I had an idiot buddy come over, wearing a hat, that threw his arms up over his head and barked right back at Max. That was 4 years ago. Max tries to kill him every time he comes over. Come through the gate with no hat...you get a couple barks and then a lick and a sniff and everyone is friends.....come through the gate with a hat on?....he loses his shit and won't stop until 5 minutes after you leave.

Something happened to this guy....we got him as a rescue, someone found him somewhere and we did the foster to adopt thing.

Pretty sure someone stuffed him in a box when he was a puppy and dropped him off somewhere and left. When we first got him....he'd get in the car no problem, but wouldn't get out. About a year into having him, we got one of those rubbermaid yard boxes...about the size of a bench that you throw all the kid toys/basketballs/junk in, put it in the corner.....Max stood about 10ft away from it growling at it for 2 days straight....had to get rid of it. He doesn't like boxes, likely because someone locked him in one.

Aside from being a dumbass, he's the best dog I've ever had. He's smart, knows how to communicate, etc....but does lots of dumb shit like in the video lol.

If we're eating dinnner outside and we ask him what he wants....he'll set his head down on the table next to one of our plates. Tell him no and he pouts and walks over and noses his kibble container...then lightly kicks his bowl to show me where to put the kibble.

Thats the way I'm leaning
He is trying to impress you and show you he is doing his job.

After a good tummy rub my little dude will jump up run to the back door and bark at nothing to show he is doing his part lol.

We had a Harrier Hound, yours could have some of that breed in him. that dog would hunt and eat anything including skunks, rattle snakes, rabbits, gophers. Harriers look like big beagles and have incredible noses. He could track a gopher from above the ground, then dig and then eat. We now have GSP's and while they too are great hunters, no comparison the Luke the Harrier.

Mine does the same shit in the yard, then he digs a hole and brings up a fukn Acorn🥴🤦‍♂️

He does the same thing in the house when he wants a treat, his honey bucket, we put non-fat yogurt with a little honey in a paper cup and freeze them it's like crack for him..lol

Of course I watch the video and my idiot dog starts barking in the house with his hair standing up.
Too funny. Same thing happened here. Played the video and had 2 Westies barking. Guess we’re gonna need one of those “don’t play video at work” warnings, only now for dogs.😁
