A couple pics from the back seat of the ride down to the Bluewater. :)

Looks great.

Don't know if it's the angle or what, but, it' looks like his oil pressure is dropping a tad as time goes on and rpm's go up.

Been a while since I ran Parker. Pics like these make me wanna tow the boat up there for a day.:thumbsup

No his boat has some funky oil pressure deals going on right now.. I think they were going to bump up the weight or something on the next trip out?

Hey RD,
is Dale's RT (the red and white one) a recent purchase? I could have sworn I saw one very similar to that advertised a few months back. O/I, blown, open bow, etc. Nice setup.

If I told you it was a 75, restored / rebuilt would ya believe me?

It looked as good as any new Schiada I've ever seen. Matter of fact I thought it was a new 09 Schiada until someone told me otherwise.

RD

I think this is my new favorite Schiada. Freaking amazing.:thumbsup

Mike D and Mike E
Now even more I wish my boat had been running for the Regatta.
I didn't know I had a twin.
It was nice to meet Mike D at your place Dave. I did not realize how much his boat looked like mine.

Is this 32 home ported in Coronado (AZ reg not withstanding...)?

I see something that looks a lot like this in the Coronado Cays all the time.

Mike Dyckman lost a water impeller so we gave him a quick tow back to the keys.

Interesting side note.. apparently you can change a water impeller in the water without flooding the boat? He had it changed in a few minutes and was over to the house for the BBQ..

In the last pic you can see.. when someone tows a Schiada everyone stops and wants to know what happened and if they need a hand fixin it or with anything. Pretty cool group of guys.

Now here's something a litle unusual.. We went out saturday night in search of Schiada party go'ers.. We went to the casino (granted we showed up pretty late) and didn't see anyone.. So we headed North to Schiada grounds up at Foxes.

I partied with "Nick" on thursday night when I 1st got there, and he mentioned they were going to have a little get together at the sandbar on saturday for his b-day and to come on by.. I completely forgot about it until we saw the tiki torches at the sandbar and said WTF is that?

Pretty cool idea. I might have to use that one for an upcoming RDP party or something.

Ran into Chris D. late saturday night.. I was pretty hammered and went right into the RDP taking over the boat industry thing so I'm sure he wasn't amused.. Either way though he was a good sport about it and it made for a good photo.

Nick is a cool cat. I went to glamis with that group and have to say that they have the Glamis program nailed. The also do big campouts off of shea rd that are a blast.

I do have to say that I was talkign to a bunch of people and we were reminiscing about the old days when you left the bar after last call and tied up the boats and floated home......I miss those days

If the boat has Cavitation to Transom pickup hoses they usually are just above the waterline when the boat is floating, so as long as any point of the inlet hose is above the level of water it won't come in.

You can also stuff a rag in the pickup and it will slow it down to a real light trickle, more than enough to do a quick and easy swap. V-drive impellers are a cinch to change being mounted right off the cam drive. No bullshit belts and hard access.

The only thing I got out of 8 pages of this is I thought RD quit smoking?:D

Curious, the Canyon, that's gotta be a different company than the one Carter Reed owned in San Dimas back in the late 80's right? Because that P.O.S. couldn't build an F'n boat out of Lego's.

Plenty of awesome boats and pics.

One day one of the Parker peeps will have to extend an invite my way so I can enjoy an epic weekend.

Anytime Phil.. Anytime. :)

Carter Reed owned (owns?) Warlock I'm pretty sure, not Canyon? And actually back in the day he built some pretty sick boats? ACtually even today they still can build a pretty sick boat.. I had a buddy that build a Warlock Diablo with stand off boxes etc.. It was built like a tank, and was clean inside and out!

i was real close to buying and restoring a truck(no rush, more as a hobby).but have lately been leaning towards restoring an old boat,my question is(pardon my newbiness) what would an old shiada ,say a 75 cost to restore, not the major works like some of these babys but just nice paint, gelcoat, interior, decent engine.....would it be cheaper then a an old 57 chevy pick up.....if so im pretty sure i could swing the wifey into letting me do it!!!!!

GelCoat would be 5 - 7 for something nice but not doing a lot of glass work. 7 - 10 filling holes etc.. Interior ranges anywhere from 3 - 7'ish depending? Open engine, hatch? Buckets? Bench? Benches? Engine the sky is the limit, rigging will also cost quite a bit. 7 - 9K for quality stuff. You haven't even gotten into driveline yet..

As well V-drive? I/O? etc.. Finding an old Schiada on the cheap is kind of a chore in itself.. LOL

There is a 22' Step down deck Schiada that has been for sale forever that is a good price though, and needs someone to do exactly what your saying. If I was making more right now I'd swoop it and make a killer v-drive out of it.. To make it "killer" though think twin turbo etc.. and you can't really have a budget building shit like that.... or a timeline. :D

It's really all in how sick you wanna make it? You can build em cheap and nice, or off the hook and throw the budget out the window. :D

i was real close to buying and restoring a truck(no rush, more as a hobby).but have lately been leaning towards restoring an old boat,my question is(pardon my newbiness) what would an old shiada ,say a 75 cost to restore, not the major works like some of these babys but just nice paint, gelcoat, interior, decent engine.....would it be cheaper then a an old 57 chevy pick up.....if so im pretty sure i could swing the wifey into letting me do it!!!!!

You should look at the DCM's for what you would have into redoing an old Schiada hull you could have a brand new hull to start with.

were is this 22 you speak of dave is it open for anyone to buy, restore?

I had in the $20k realm into my old Spectra andit wasnt close to being where I wanted it. My borther owns the boat now and I would have to say he is easily antoher $10k away from it being done

It's a red and white step down deck up in havasu.. The guy started at 10+K, and I think he's down to 5'ish right now. I'd think you could regel that boat all white on the cheap.. fill the holes etc.. The guy has a trailer, but i'm not sure if it's a v-drive trailer or not.

I don't have the link to the add, but the guy has been trying to sell it for quite sometime. I'm sure it's on craigslist, and any other free add deal you can find. I think someone even put it on here at one point?

Depends on how good of condition the Campbell is in. :) There cool boats too! I've never been in one, but I heard they don't ride very good being basically a big flat bottom.

I haven't heard about it recently, but I'll look for it on craigslist right now and see if I can't find it.

My deal I got on my Schiada is sounding better everyday. :thumbsup:D Although I never plan to have it the way most of these are. I just want clean and reliable. I don't need show quality. Better yet, I can't afford show quality. :grumble:

If the step deck cruiser that Dave is talkin' about is the same one I'm thinking about, there's been a For Sale flyer on the bulletin board at Badenochs forever.
