My Schiada Regatta Pics - (And Stacy and Kelli's)

Got their late friday night.. Put the boat in the water and turned the key and the motor would crank but it wouldn't start. Just had some work done to the boat so I figured maybe they knocked a wire off or something. As it turns out my kids had pulled the lanyard out of the boat and I didn't know it. (I never use it.. I only had it installed in case we wanted to race stock day cruiser class for ski racing)



So we flipped the little switch in the lanyard base and off we went. Of course when we got to the house we had to take a few people for a keys cruise.



My canal was running pretty late getting down to the beach on Bluewater on Saturday.. The neighbors all gearing up to roll.



We finally got to the Blue Water and I tried to take a pic of every boat that was on the beach while I was there.. There was quite a few of them coming and going so I'm sure I missed a few.



Pretty sure this is Paul 65K's old 21.. I have never met the new owner, but I saw him post on here once.

This is one of the baddest 20's around.. Larry has been ski racing it for years and it still looks as good as new. Boat recently got a new cap and a few other upgrades.

I am terrible with names and I asked this pretty lady for it twice to make sure I got it right.. and here it is on Tuesday afternoon and I can't remember. I do know that she is going to be the newest addition to the ski racing family, and will be skiing behind Larry's 20. RDP hasn't followed Ski Racing in awhile, and we are looking forward to watching her make her way up through the ranks, and possibly even sponsoring a race or two for them to help them get started.

This is "MACHO" the boat on the back of the 2015 RDP shirts.. It is one of the baddest boats on the beach from just about any aspect. (Which is why it's on the back of my shirt) Owner also owns L&L Annodizing and are big on doing boat parts FYI.




Every now and again a new boat pops up and it smacks you in the face because it's something you can see yourself owning.. It's got my colors.. It's a 24, it's all that I want in life.. This boat was the boat this year that showed up that did that to me. I don't believe I have ever seen this 24 before, but it stood out from the crowd as one I'd own. I couldn't get a picture of it, but it had a cool center console before the drivers legs that had a compass etc..

I think you are talking about the long tabs on the 24's.. They run them horizontal to the water to the tabs have to reach way out before they touch. They are to help with chine walking at high speeds. You can drop them all the way though and use them as conventional tabs as well.

makes sense...thanks...I always wondered why most tabs are installed at an angle versus horizontal to the water...seems like a good way to slow things down versus push the bow down.

It's hard for me with the kids to break away and go film boats etc.. I didn't even bring my go pro's with me.. and ironically enough I can't find my cannon camera anywhere. I took all pics and videos this year with an I phone.

Yup it sure is but Dave my old 21RC was a very similar paint scheme with a Volvo 290 Outdrive. Both boats were there last year sitting side by side....my old boat now lives in Lake Arrowhead:thumbup::thumbup:

Meet Greg Games who is a nice guy to talk to. Talked about his blue outboard which came out nice with a 300xs on it. Surprised that hull is even still alive after the Catalina runs it has. Looks like the repaired glass work has held up fine. Was cool seeing it again.
