I picked this Spectra up the other day here in Vegas from Cl for $3000.
It is an 81' Spectra 20' with a 350 mercruiser stern drive. The motor runs good. May need a new lower unit becouse the fin is broken, but has a stainless prop. I think I got a pretty good deal....Hal
If you pull the lower and take it out to Kevin @ R&R Propshop, he can most likely fix it for less than a new lower. He's in Henderson, on the way to the lake.
My third boat was a Spectra 20 with this exact setup the 350 w/ 260 o/d. The guy I sold it to put through transom exhaust and I had rebuilt the engine and made it a bit stronger. The exhaust made such a difference.
Good lookin ol tug, you should be very happy with it fo ra long time to come. I like the wind screen, does it have a name or manufacturer logo on it? Lookin for one like that for my ol beater. Enjoy....:drnkfr
I finnaly got a chance to take the spectra out for a shakedown run ,last weekend. We went out to lake mead and ran the boat thu the paces.
The boat ran really well, no troubles at all. The only problem is that I have a small leak comming from the out drive. The Guy I bought it from told Me that one of the cable boots were split and takes on allitle water. I am really pleased with the deal i got on this boat ,for the great shape it is in. The boat ran 55 per the speedo with 3 people and a full ice chest. The only thing I dislike about the boat is the front bench seat. Its gotta go and be replaced with a set of bucket seats.
Great Boat!
My dad bought our's brand new in '79. I have since aquired it, and have been in the process of restoring it. Still has the original 350 and 260 outdrive.
I think I have spent almost as many miles behind it as I have in it... Fantastic Ski Boat for a Day Cruiser.
