So the family and I are here in Nashville for a few days as we are on our way to Florida. What are some must do/eats while we are here? My youngest is 13 so we need to keep that in mind. The kids are really into all genres of music, but don’t know of a solid kid friendly Honky Tonk.

Oddly enough take one of the tractor wagon tours through the city. It’s goofy and touristy as all hell but a lot of fun.

I like hanging out at Tootsies on Broadway but I don’t think kids are allowed. It can get pretty rowdy. Actually all of Broadway can lol

I like the Cumberland Park area. It feels more older Nashville and I always spend a few bucks at Tailgate Brewery.

I went down to music row where all the bars are with my wife and two kids, they were 3 and 9 at the time. We went in most of the bars during the day. Most of the bars had live music playing and it was a great time. If you like hot chicken then you need to check out Hattie B's hot chicken for sure. Go to Robert's western world bar, cheap beers and fried bologna sandwiches.

Haha....fried baloney sammis at Roberts were surprisingly awesome.......cool place...
Family friendly stuff...check out the water park @ J. Percy Priest dam area. It's next to the marina there at the dam. We drove by a couple weeks ago on a sat. And it was packed so if you don't like big crowds try a week day or skip it.
Beatiful area there at that lake.
Look up Arrington winery. They have large outdoor areas to picnik at while listening to good music, 3 diff. genre's I believe. Wines are pretty good too. Nice place to dine and watch the sunset. Pick up food at a rest. And bring along.. Bring a Frisbee, football etc. To help entertain the kiddo's. It's about a 25 min dr. So. From down town area. Country music hall of fame is pretty cool too. Grand ol Opry, see who's playing there. The Blue bird is a place many great country stars played in there early days, may see some very talented peeps there.
Maple Street biscuit house for b-fast in Murphysburough(sp?) Very tasty grub, gets very busy so plan accordingly. Check menu online if your dieting haha.

Well ya kinda limit yourself if you have a kid. To me, it’s not much of a kid/family town. I’m sure there’s things to do but then you miss what the draw is.

Few suggestions of places we like. We have a friend who owns several bars on Broadway, so we’ve experienced it a few times.

Hattie b’s Hot Chicked is a must.

We really like a place called Pinewood. Great restaurant.

Gaylord Opryland resort. HUGE place. There’s actually a big water park there so that could be good for kids.

FGL House (Florida Georgia Line) great roof top bar.

Jason Aldeans has several levels each with music. Place has great food with a wide variety.

Luigis City Pizza

Those last three I might be biased.

And for sure Tootsies

Nashville got hurt from covid but it’s back in full force like nothin ever happened. But the bars/restaurants sucked wind there for a long time so they’re all happy to have it back.

X2 on the Gaylord operyland resort. That place is really cool. Downtown Franklin is awesome. Lots of civil war history. The plantation tour and the Hermitage are worth the price of admission. Great music everywhere. The marinas had good music and I would imagine they are more kid friendly than the tonks

X2 on the Jack Daniels distillery and I’d add a non fancy dinner at the shipwreck cove at J Percy Priest reservoir. The restaurant is on the dock and they usually have live music.

When leaving Nashville, go E. on I-40 to US 111 S.
From there to Chattanooga is a BUEATIFUL drive for only 45 minutes extra. This will be the most beautiful part of your trip.
Enjoy

Avoid Broadway on Friday and Saturday day and night, even Thursday night starts to get stupid. Broadway Mon - Thursday day or night is best. Take a short trip over to Franklin and tour all of the Civil War history stuff. The Loetz house tour was pretty moving. 10,000 Americans died on there property around the house and the house was made into a hospital during the battle, the blood stains are still on the floor and bullet holes are everywhere.

Thanks for all the replies. We decided to head down to Broadway and hit a few places that the kids could enjoy with us. We had lunch at the Lucky Bastard Saloon and really enjoyed the bands. From there we went to Gaylords Opryland and hung out there for a bit at The Falls , enjoying an acoustic artist and had a few more drinks. It was a great first day and we are walking out the door now for day 2 before we leave for Dollywood in the morning.

Pigeon forge and gatlinburg are great family oriented areas with lots to do, the kids will b stoked. Douglas lake is nearby and is massive and beautiful. The drive up to P.F./dollywood will be easy and beautiful...lush Forrest and many rivers all along the way.

We just hit the Lotz House (thanks One A Day) that was a serious eye opener for is all, but especially my kids. We have been set on a second home in Havasu for quite some time now, but are thinking we may shift our focus to possibly Tennessee. We are headed back to the room so my youngest daughter can change and get ready to do some of her senior pics in downtown Nashville, it helps when your wife is a photographer! After that we plan on having dinner at Hattie B’s per another recommendation here.

Repeats for:

Franklin and Civil War location tours. Robert’s Western World (afternoon if you have the youngin with you). Jack Daniel tour. Country Music Hall of Fame.
On your way to Florida go through Memphis and see Graceland, their museum and private jet.
