I have roughly 200 pallets of MRE’s

1 pallet contains 48 cases
A case consists of 12 meals
1 pallet is 576 meals
X 200 is 115,200 meals total (could go another 10 or so pallets extra if needed)

8 flavors

I’m looking to either sell the lot for cheap or donate it to a charity where I can use the tax write off.

Another potential idea is to donate it to several charities as the lot is massive in size and too much for most singular charities to handle at roughly 4 1/4 semi loads total.

Anyone got a line into a charity that can handle something of that size? Currently located in a climate controlled warehouse in Phoenix. They must pick up as I do not want to pay for transportation to drop off.

I volunteer for the American Red Cross. I once had a truckload (22 pallets) of MRE's, that was within a week of expiration, and I spoke to one of the Commander of an Army base who gladly accepted them for his soldiers. Don't know it it will help, but certainly better than going to waste.

I was up in Washington in the fires in 2015, so I don't have a local contact around here.
You could contact your local American Red Cross, and they would send the Inquiry to their In kind Donation folks.

My cousin has a 5013c called barbers for baja. I could ask him about this if you would like? It’s just a small deal he and his buddys fired up to help out in baja communities.

I’d speak with a cpa and see if this strategy is correct for you, as well as how to structure the timing for your needs.

What was the plan for these?

Original plan was to purchase and resell.. right about that time the Ukraine war broke out. Swung for the fences and came close.. ultimately didn’t connect.

We sold some to help cover the costs.. if I can take the tax write off for what I am into them for with storage I’d do it.

If not I’m going to double my efforts to sell these to various markets

Contact Damon Carson at http://repurposedmaterials.com/

His company finds and buys surplus materials and products of every kind imaginable. The MREs aren't in his area of specialization, but he will probably be able to give you a lead or two. The company is based in Denver.

We sold some to help cover the costs.. if I can fake the tax write off for what I am into them for with storage I’d do it.

I see them for sale on the internet, I think the right person could market these

Hey Dave, just throwing this out there, i can haul 24-26 of them back to SoCal on my step deck if needed when I deliver something out to Phoenix area. If SoCal guys want to try to put something together and all go in on a load, I’d be happy to help out…

Think it all the way through and you’ll figure out why.

Heres a hint… $

LOL. There's handfuls of money out there to help the needy. Friends of mine built FREE condos for the homeless at the low cost of $750k per unit. Nothing is more profitable then free shit.😁

A friend is a vice undercover cop posing as a homeless guy working in homeless shelters he said many of them are just an avenue for Medicare Medicaid and snap card fraud. Not to mention the salaries and benifits for the people running the nonprofit.

Some are really good but you have to look hard

So did these get donated or sold? Tried to buy them but Dave seems to have ghosted me.

RiverDave- I don't know if you are still looking to donate MRE's any time soon. but I work for a non profit in Maine and I am quite sure they would appreciate any MREs available. We serve the homeless. My specific program works with homeless veterans.

Ma'am or Sir,

I founded and own Knights of the Night Incorporated. We are a non-profit organization that conducts outreach in some of the worst neighborhoods where relief efforts are limited.

Veteran owned and operated. We have all credentials for any write-off and any other needs. We provide over 500 meals per week direct to the streets. This is throughout high-risk high crime communities. Aiding with Human Trafficking of women throughout the county and our communities vulnerable population.

We also conduct wound care triage and several other harm reduction services.

Could we partner up with your team for our community?

We would like to apply for 1k per week at total of 4k per month. Is this something that could be realistic.

Thank you for your service and God bless you and your team!

Mission statement and all documents can be sent. Just let us know what you need to make it work.

Merry Christmas
