Thank you for the advice! The plan for the initial air fill is to use a tire inflator hooked up to the 1st stage LP port on one of my scuba tanks. Should take 3500psi down to 130psi and a figure a few quick blasts will work.

Do you think I'd have any trouble using a shrader to presta adapter (I already have presta valves).

New helmet, considering how many eye problems I've had recently I decided that it's best to protect my eyes with goggles. And with that a full face helmet. The IXS Trigger FF... Didn't really want the Camo color way but I found a good deal online. Pretty stoked on it..

the adapter is fine.. i do the same. what kind of volume do you expect to get with that tank? As long as you have control to not put too much air in youll be good. When you put the tire sealant in, spin the tire slowly to distribute the sealant. When it inflates and the bead sets, spin the tire and rotate and it will fill any holes.. its weird. youll have bubble bubble and then nothing...

To pop the bead, I first remove the valve stem core then blast 80lbs of air through a lever blow gun and rubber tip. The bead pops and I release the air.

Next I add sealant, install valve stem core and air up to ride. Last is a quick ride down the driveway and back to insure the sealant gets everywhere.

This method works great every time at least on TR rims and tires.

Made the mistake of riding an ebike a couple months ago. These are unreal.

Picked this up yesterday. Specialized Levo comp alloy.

Also a believer in the MX wheels now. I was looking for a 29 at first but I’m glad I went this direction.

Happy Sunday 🤙🏽

I was just wondering if anyone was still riding, I know my fat ass hasnt had any seat time in a month or so... I am kind of dreading my next ride, It takes forever to get back to the pace you where and you loose it so quick...

I’m on 4-5 days a week. Some days road bike, some days MTB.

Rode to Wickenburg and back today on my Roubaix. Hot and windy. 😡

I'm still 3 days a week, but just short sprints mostly. Still haven't managed to get back to pre pandemic fitness levels.

Hot and Windy is always my excuse not to ride, and I am sure the heat around my neighborhood is drastically different than the heat you have in AZ. You are a mad man!

I passed the Lake Pleasant entrance at 6:30. I just hydrate hard, eat a lot and listen to music.

It’s really a mind game.

Looking for a recommendation....

I live in Park City, a popular mountain bike town this time of year. I dont have a bike here and dont ride during the summer. Id like to but I dont want to spend the kind of $$$ I see in some of the bikes here and cant afford another expoensive hobby. Id like a bike that kinda does it all, a little roadway and some dirt. Not the downhill crazy stuff at the resort or bike parks here. Something better than a Walmart bike but not as expensive as the car I take it home in. Any thoughts would be helpful. I love to buy some of these bikes in here but i know they are serious gear and big money. Instead of driving to the gym Id rather ride then hit some gentle trails.

No recommendations other than to go out and ride, there are some amazing trails around Park City!

Did you ever pick up a SL7?
I have not yet. I had one on order but cancelled it after 8 months.

My Roubaix Sworks is 14.6 and the Sworks SL7 is like 17 I think. The only performance difference in disc brakes.

My Roubaix is an awesome endurance bike that climbs great. The new Roubaix has geometry like the old Tarmac. I’ll ride this bike till October

I would say this is the number one reason I bought an Ebike. With my odd work schedule it would be difficult to always have my legs. Just the fact that I know I'm not gonna get my ass kicked with my Levo has me going a lot more. I wished we could go on rides together but it wouldn't be very fun for you. Still gotta take you on my loop.

I can ride almost 2.5x the same distance on the ebike than I could on my Carbine. I enjoy it so much more, and I could imagine the ebike will be a huge skill builder with the additional time doing technical riding at speed (downhill and uphill)

Lately the thought of an Ebike has become more appealing for all of these reasons. The thing that sets me straight is that for the same price I could have a nice dirt bike!!🤣🤣

Maybe I will head over to the bike shop and look again...

I bought this cheap one for $149 at Target & the Walmart bikes are just as cheap… the main issue I see at Target & Walmart is the employee’s that assemble the bikes. Everything seems loose, brake pads not adjusted correctly, bad tubes & unreliable.

I ride this to work everyday & it does the job however it’s SLOW. I make sure to tighten everything every weekend & check my tire pressures all week long. Flat tires are inevitable, as much as I try to avoid them. I feel like I’m constantly dodging broken glass or debris on the paved bike paths behind shopping centers & parks.

I really like the TREK Marlin 5 & the TREK 820 for entry level bikes in that $500-$700 range & want to pick one up soon…. I’ve been keeping an eye on CL for a slightly used one….

I feel like TREK, Specialized, GT, Giant & Cannondale are some of the bigger names.

So, for now, this cheap Huffy gets me back in forth (10 miles per/day). The E-bikes are just way more than I’m willing to spend. I might even buy an adult-electric scooter with a 500w motor & 25 mile range with 10” solid tires, to avoid flats…. But I’d still like to own a TREK as well…..

Just what I was looking for. Ive used a Giant and Schwinn before and enjoyed riding them. i know they wont do what the $6500 bike above will but a little off road and trail riding would be nice.

If I'm gonna cheat riding up hills, I'd rather have 55 hp than 5 hp. :p

You ladies enjoy your mountain mopeds. For me, I like the feeling I get when I earned that climb. 💪
🤣 Same but I am kind of limited in options riding the 55hp version out of my driveway

I too am trying to get back into mountain biking after tearing up my knee last year crashing my dirt bike. So far I've just been staying in the flat sections.

The price on the quality bikes is still way too high for me, and with inflation and supply issues will stay high for a while. There is a Chinese bike that gets good reviews, Luna X-1 and now the X-2. It is about $4K, but not as stealthy as the Specialized or other more purist brands. I've also been eyeing the Sur Ron, but that would definitely get me in trouble with the local park constabulary.

Just an observation, but it you're thinking about buying a new mountain bike from an online retailer, you might want to wait a couple of months before making the purchase. Most of the Internet bike sellers are way overstocked with new inventory and will start unloading it soon with deep discounts. Just a suggestion.

Agree. I had ordered a new Tarmac, S-works SL7. It was over 12,500, and 8 months out. I cancelled

The retailer is now calling me. 😂

Did someone mention SL7... 87 miles Saturday and only 2300 feet of Elevation. Typical for Iowa. Ordered this Sagan during Covid summer 2020. 1 of 300. And my little local bike shop got it. Couldnt believe it. Now with about 10,500 miles on it so far I can honestly say I wouldnt hestitate to buy another one. Too many reasons to list but my number 1 like is every ounce of power you give it, it gives it to the ground. No compliance - but yet it still rides like my two Roubiaxs (SL4 & SL6) for comfort.

Nice ride! Gorgeous location! I miss putting in miles where it’s green!
We almost have the same ride. Mine is just flat black with the greenish tint when the sun hits it. Like you said it puts the power down when you do!

Just back from a 2hr fitting.

Should have done it a year ago - makes a pretty significant difference.

Nice. That's an amazing bike I had and Sworks SL7 but sold it during the pandemic for more than I paid. I have a Specialized Aethos with Etap Sram Red and its such a great riding bike.

I'm riding every day or at least five to six days a week trying to get back down to race weight. Would like to do an Everesting on my 50th bday next year under 10 hours. We will see!

Left Lake Las Vegas to Dam to Green Valley back through lake. About 78miles and 6400 feet of climbing. Would have kept riding but got 105 degrees. Lost about 8lbs in water weight. Gonna do 85miles and 10k in climbing on my Tues morning next week before I even go to work. Got to get lean!

The geometry on that bike looks comfortable for long rides. You like it better then your SL7 in that aspect? Those are some good rides your putting in 🙌 if I was closer I’d roll with you! I need to get on the bike more but it’s so damn hard to get the time 🤦‍♂️ You on Strava?

Not on Strava. The geometry isnt far off from the Sl7 but I have to slam the stem to get enough saddle to bar drop. Im surprisingly flexible for an old cat.

The most I have ridden in one day was was 215 miles and 28000 feet of elevation gain. Have not done a ride like that in a long time. Since I quit racing seriously, I juat like long fun rides with lots of hills. Unfortunately I'm not as skinny as Id like to be; more on the fat side now! Haha.

That’s a big ass ride in one day 🤣 Hell even two days lol. I enjoy the pain of climbing as well but I can’t say I’ve ever done anything close to 28k of climbing! Kudos to you Sir! I’m not flexible at all and holding my head up for super long rides kill me ever since I hit a parked car and jacked my neck upa few years ago. Yeah I hit a parked car 🫣 definitely not one of my prouder moments 🤣 I just wish someone had me on video.

Did you use to race professional?

Never raced professionally as in getting a paycheck but was on a few teams and one pretty well known amateur team that gave full support. Like getting bikes, gear, nutrition, travel etc all paid for. I'm still a cat 1. Quit racing as a master in 2016. Now just for fun. I may try some hill climbs and and maybe get back in time trialing or somthing down the road but it really takes a lot of work and discipline to be fast. I like happy hours and travel and fun stuff too much! Haha. I've always been a little bummed I never won a national championship. That was aleays a huge goal for me to earn stars and bars. I have won multiple Ca/Nv state championships and won the Pro 1-2 California team time trial state championship my last year racing or so.

Did a quick 30miles and about 2000 feet in climbing this morning before work. It was beautiful and the desert is so green from all the rain.

Trying to stay 50 and fit!!! I look at so many of my friends that are my age and even much younger and they look terrible. It's more work to stay fit as you get older for sure but worth it not to have a stroke or heart attack.

I'm not good at much but I could sure ride a bike.haha.

Yeah:

I really recommend it.

Nice, I had two Retul fit studios for a long time. One in Vegas and one in Reno. Sold both to local shops that wanted high end fitting. It was just a side business I had for about eight years.
