A fuel injector has voltage at all times.

The computer Normally supplies the Ground circuit to the injector. It you hook a test light to Anything computer related, you'll likely fry the computer.

The correct way to verify the ECU is trying to fire the injector, is to use what's called a Noid Light. You plug it into the injector connector, and see if it flashes, or not.

or the injectors are partially clogged from our crappy pump gas. just because it blinks doesn't mean the fuel is getting through.

Been there done that. Ls take outs that sat for a while. Fuel pressure, spark and no run. Cleaned the injectors and they purr like a kitten.. amazing how bad today's gas is.

True. It's a Process of elimination.

I took some fresh gas (perfectly clear) and sealed it in a clear container.

In less that three weeks, it turned yellow. It just kept getting darker from there.

I believe the tester you are referring to is called a 'Noid Light'. I've seen them referred to that name on diagnostic videos.
